DPS sent one of my students a letter.....

#1

Post by mommagamber »

DPS sent one of my students a letter stating that they denied their CHL-100 because the instructor has an expired license. WHAT??? My license doesn't expire until 12/31/2013. Guess I get to spend the day on the phone with DPS tomorrow. :banghead:

I have never had to deal with something like this. Anybody have any insight?

I had the same thing happen last year in January. It turns out, I had put the wrong year on the class date and it was true that I was not an instructor on the date on the CHL 100. I called Austin and explained the error and they were very helpful by allowing the incorrect forms process without any rejections. I did have some explaining to do to the student that got the letter.

Just pulled his paperwork and looked at it and it is the exact same problem. Humbly calling Austin this morning. :-)

Here's a crazy question. Did DPS contact YOU about this at all? I would think the instructor would need to told if she is teaching with an expired certification (as they initially reported) or issuing erroneously dated CHL-100s.

I do have to say...Whoever picked out the DPS hold music was smart. If I have to listen to this to much longer.......... :-( It makes me not want to call and hold for sure.

Thet never contacted me either. Makes me wonder how closely they check the class roster.
