Re: Oh boy...
I looked around and couldn't find anything that described mounting this backwards for any purpose. You Eotech folks can confirm this, but everything I read also said that the reticle cannot be seen from the back, just clear glass. It seems like there are a bunch of people making fun of this photo and the "professional" that mounted his sight backwards. That's probably why he has his BUIS up and probably says he hasn't had time to sight in his new Eotech yet.

This is correct. Other, less expensive red dots that I own appear much dimmer when viewed from the opposite side; the Eotech appears as clear glass. That is a major advantage of the Eotech in low light situations -- it doesn't give up your position.C-dub wrote:You Eotech folks can confirm this, but everything I read also said that the reticle cannot be seen from the back, just clear glass.

Re: Oh boy...
In the time I played around with a few Eotechs my troop's arms room had, if you looked through the sight backwards you couldn't see any bit of a reticle, period. These were older model Eotechs that we had so I'm not sure if the backwards/low light scenario talked about above is possible with newer models.

Maybe he wants a 250 MOA sight.
I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.

No, this is not correct. On my EoTech, you can see the red dot. It is as bright as it is in NVG mode and you have to be a very dark room.

I was just about to go re-mount mine 'correctly' to match the 'professional' before a realized everyone was poking fun...baldeagle wrote:I thought maybe this was an optical illusion, so I used Preview to flip the picture around and invert it. Nope. No matter which way you look at the picture, the scope is on backwards. Maybe the guy knows something we don't. Maybe someone should try it.
