Method of carry is currently in debate. I am afraid the fanny packs/purses I have to buy are going to far outway the cost of any firearm.....If she will carry I will get it though. She has been a trooper! Before December she had never even shot a firearm. A couple of lessons later she shoots a 215. Not bad, actually I am proud! The best part is I can buy new handguns so that I can see if she likes them better than the 19. Next on the block is a 3913 Smith!

Just an update. we recieved our pins on 4/30. 2 weeks to the day that we mailed off.

Edit 6/8, 55 days and nothing yet. I have been told it can and probably will take 60 days, so much for getting lucky.

Hope you 2 have chosen some gear & are happy w/ it. You do not have to start out w/ a really expensive Coronado Carry Purse. My Mom & Wife both find very usable purses at Wal-Mart. They look for one that has some sort of Zipper opening on an Inner pocket that is large enough to contain ONLY their weapon. Ideally it will zip both across the top & then down the side.
Mom carries on her left shoulder w/ a pretty short strap. (Wife carries every way but upside down) Both tie a knot in the long ones.

Mom has a lanyard to easily get a hold of.
If she sees an elivated threat she unzips just enough to get her right hand in the pocket. Her draw is insert hand & drag zipper rest of the way open as weapon is presented. Works really well.

She has settled on a waist pack. I have a few IWB holsters I am trying out. I am even thinking of getting a small wheelie and trying ankle carry, what the heck!

Today is day 60 from my door. Dps shows they started to process it 6 days after I sent it so I guess it is not "officially" 60 days. What happens if they go over 60? should I email them then?

after 60 days I have called them (before the website).. they were VERY pleasant and understanding.. one of the VERY nice ladies tracked down my packet, told me it was in the stack to be issued and told me not to worry about it.. a week later it arrived..

If you think about it, they process about 1200 applications a week! So calling them without cause is not cool.. after 60 days you are reasonable to check if maybe it got 'hung up' or 'misplaced'...

UPDATE! 68 days from my door. 60 days since proccessing started.

I just got off of the phone with the DPS and was told that my case was sent to a technician for "further review". What in the heck does that mean? I left a message and I am currently waiting for a call.....

I would say that you have some arrest or other questionable activity in your record that the "Normal" CHL License Application Processor cannot make a judgment on. Therefore, he/she has sent your application and supporting documents to their in house Law Expert to determine if your circumstances disqualify you or not.

Another thing, if he/she has actually sent it to a "technician" as opposed to the in house Law Expert, it could be because of smudged fingerprints that he/she needs a professional determination on.

Well, the only time I was arrested was 13 years ago for public intox. Could that cause it? My wifes app is at the same "technician". They actually said "technician" though.
