Would you vote: Yes or No for a TxCHLForum.com app?
Just curious on are people's thoughts if there should or shouldn't be an app for this site.
I'd say yes, buts that's also because I am a tech kind of guy.

You need to add the poll.
What kind of app are we talking about? I personally would like to see Tap-A-Talk added. I would even contribute to a fund for it since I know this comes out of Chas' pocket.

It renders pretty good on my iphone, perhaps a mobile redirect is all it needs so the subjects are larger and the posts show as links? I like the way m.fark.com shows up in my mobile browser.

I wouldn't mind seeing phpBB Mobile enabled, but honestly...I rarely (as in once, maybe twice a year) look at the forum on my phone. I have no dog in this fight.
I'm not pro-Tapatalk in any way. Their documented exploits and programming issues (passwords stored in plain text on a device?!? Hello?) are enough for me to say no.

There are a bunch of apps. Most smart phones today come with Safari or Chrome already installed. If not you can add them pretty easy, or choose Firefox, Dolphin, etc.

Good luck, I've made several attempts and it won't go. The admins here believe there are security holes in all the apps apparently and wont' do it. That was a while back but every time it's brought up it meets a unhappy demise. I don't post half as much as I would like because I hate trying to browse the web on my cell phone. I frequent 2-3 more forums during the day because tapatalk makes it much easier to keep up.

If that is the case, then I understand.
Me personally, I am not worried about my forum passwords as I use different ones for each site I visit but as an administer of the forum, I'd care.

Maybe I'm missing something. This subject has been discussed before, and it has been made clear that the admin is aware of the desire for it, but it was not going to happen, as has been pointed out. Is the objective here to wear him down until he gives in, or maybe to make absolutely sure he is aware of the desire for an app? Once again, let's strenuously object his decision.

What's wrong with just accessing the site using good old HTTP browsers?

I guess I had missed the fun of if it's been discussed before. I personally haven't seen that one but I'm still a new guys around here and miss half of the stuff talked about.
Guess this is just one more of those topics that will get brought up and again!

I never knew it was discussed. No need to take it personal.

I guess if one is going to beat a horse it is better to beat a dead one instead of a live one? In some countries that might be considered tenderizing.RX8er wrote:MasterOfNone wrote:Maybe I'm missing something.
