Okay, so The_Busy_Mom and I completed our CHL class today. YIPEEEEEEE. I scored a 98 on the written and a 247 on the shooting. We are going to electronically file our documents tonight.

Online submission is completed on 1/12/2013:

License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page.

A week in to the submission and no updates online. The_busy_mom and I both received an email stating they had received our online form submission with attachments.

Expect 20 days before your online status changes that seems to be the current timeline - i just got update over the weekend when it seems the first status changes happen.

I submitted on Jan. 6 and am in the same boat - as others have said, expect to wait a bit longer. I'll ping you when my status changes since I'm "technically" a week in front of you. The law says they have to process with 60 days of verified receipt (sorry, not exact wording) - so of course, it's the "receiving" part that takes the longest.

I called the DPS today and there is a holdup.

They are unable to read my DD214 form as it is a copy from the archives. I also submitted a form 13038 along with the 214 for the proof of discharge and explination of the unreadable state. It has been escalated to a supervisor now and I'll know more on Wednesday.

My app has been updated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It now says: License Status: Application packet has been received from the applicant, the application is in progress.

Nothing online yet but my docs were entered in the system this morning. Progress finally!

Just to make sure mine shows what other's has, I have the yellow exclamation point on the follow items:

Application : Received
Fingerprints : Under review
Background Check : Under review
Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review


The only one that concerns me is the fingerprints. Is this normal that they are under review or maybe because they are unreadable????
