Here is a copy of an email that I just sent to Speaker John Boehner. I know that my two Texas Senators and Texas Representative are already on board and leading the fight against gun control.
QUOTE:
SUBJECT: GUN CONTROL: "NOT NOW!" "NOT EVER!"
Dear Speaker Boehner,
I have been a Republican voter since 1961. In recent years, I have been appalled by the lack of intestinal fortitude of the Republican Senators and Representatives who do not stand up to the Far Leftist leaning Socialist Democrat Party.
We did not put you in Washington to "get along" with the Democrats, we put you in office to defeat their socialist agenda.
In the upcoming fight over gun control, I expect you to be absolutely unyielding on these attacks upon our 2nd Amendment Rights. "WE ARE NOT SUBJECTS OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OR PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA!" "WE ARE FREE MEN AND FREE WOMEN!" I also expect you to do a better job of getting all the Republicans on board to fight any new gun control legislation. There is to be NO COMPROMISE ON THIS ISSUE. We expect the Republicans in the House to be the gate keeper to ensure that not a single piece of new gun control legislation is passed.
FEDERAL GUN CONTROL: "NOT NOW!" "NOT EVER!"
When the Republican Party developed their "Contract with America," they were able to appeal directly to the American people. I do not understand why you do not use your significant influence and power as Speaker of the House to communicate with the American people and push back against the devastating policies of the Socialist Democrat Party. I am tired of the apologetic attitude of the Republicans in the Congress. I hope you will not only welcome the conservative Republicans into your fold but understand that they are the lifeblood of the party, if Republicans ever hope to regain full majority status.
Thank you for your fight on the Budget front. Now, I hope you will be equally decisive and lead the fight against gun control.
Please get our agenda passed and quit compromising with the Democrats. It would help to call them out on all of their hypocrisy with one law for us common people and another law for the "Washington Elite."
A loyal Republican voter,

You are correct!anygunanywhere wrote: I am not sure where you get your info on Boehner's "budget fight" but you are not reading the same stuff I am because he rolled over and showed his belly to bummer.

I think I was being a little lenient in that Boehner admitted that he had made a mistake and did get "No Work, No Pay" established on getting a budget. We will see if that actually accomplishes anything.
One of the reasons I wrote to him was to keep his feet to the fire. Without tremendous pressure from conservative Republicans, he is far too likely to sell us down the river with his incessant desire to compromise with the Democrats. I am fed up with compromise. It gets us nothing but disasters like "Obamacare!" I am so tired of Democrats holding firm on all the issues and Republicans caving in at every opportunity. If the Republicans don't get some backbone and start going for the jugular, I don't see the value in continuing to vote for them. More and more, I consider myself a "Conservative" rather than a "Republican."
