Season's greetings, everyone!! I received my CHL today....here's my timeline..........
11/12/12: Application submitted online
11/21/12: Fingerprints / photos taken
11/25/12: CHL class (thank you DFW Gun Range / Calvin Barnard)
11/26/12: Packet mailed to Austin (regular mail)
12/18/12: Background check 'under review'
12/19/12: Manufacturing 'pending'
12/20/12: Manufacturing
12/21/12: Mailed / postmark on the envelope
12/24/12: Plastic in hand....29 days mailbox-to-mailbox. Thank you' TXDOPS

Geez, that was quick.

My wife is very jealous. She mailed on 11/13, received by DPS on 11/15. Sitting in background check since 12/5. I assume since she has had three places of employment in three different cities in the DFW area in last five years (requiring more background check time if they do indeed check each city where you have worked and lived), and has a class B misd. from 2007 (sealed, so not considered a conviction for CHL), its taking longer.

Congrats for getting your license. My wife and I applied the same day in November. She received hers in December. On the TxDPS website, mine still indicated "waiting for background info" (1/14/13). Go figure.

DPS received my CHL package on their PO BOX on Dec 24-12 and as today
Jan -14-2013 still waiting ...... when I check status on the DPS website
Shows no progress only says waiting on my docs to be received

Mailed all documents on 12-18. Still show that documents have not been received.

My update was 29 days from the date I mailed everything in. I would expect yours to be updated by the 23rd since Monday is a holiday.

I also mailed in my documents on 12/18. Website updated on 1/14 and showed under background review. Surprisingly, it went to manufacture pending on 1/16 and manufacturing on 1/17. Hoping to receive it next week!

Just checked my status this morning and I have cleared the background (was not worried). Onto Manufacture Pending.
