We'll be there Saturday too, and my son and DIL are coming.

Excellent! I look forward to meeting you.

Anyone that can make it, the planning meeting is tonight at Breadwinners Uptown Dallas. Any help in making this as successful as possible would be appreciated.

So..I'm a little confused at what this event is going to be....

Is it a rally to show support for the second amendment, that we don't share the same views as this president/king and his goblins do. That we will not sit back and have are rights stripped from us...... or is this a group of guys/gals who want to try and buy some guns at a good price that would otherwise be destroyed.

I'm all for buying some guns at a good price dont get me wrong but this is not my intention coming to this event. I think the media will cover this in a way which will paint us as a bunch of crazies taking advantage of the "loophole" if this is what the event is about. I live in dallas. I work in dallas. I talk to 100's of people everyday from dallas and for the most part these people think obama is the greatest thing ever to happen to this country(I know I know, we know otherwise) and agree with every word that he speaks. I'm not saying alll of dallas thinks this by any means but the people I talk to full support anything he wants. I would like to sway those people on the fence to are side if possible but I dont think that will happen if all they see is guns being bought/sold left and right.

So I guess I'm just trying to figure out what this thing is really about...

Its about both. I am making signs that show that we have already been checked by the FBI and DPS and are exempt from federal background checks as it is in order to minimize that bad press. At first the only plan was to buy the firearms, but now its a show of support for the most part and if we can save a few in the process, so be it.

Did I miss this part?

“Private collectors will be setting up a mini-market place right there,” Baker explained. But he said the guns will not be re-sold. “We will run all of the serial numbers by Dallas police. Any firearms that come back stolen will be returned to Dallas police so that they can be returned to their owners. Any guns that were involved in a crime will be returned to the Dallas police for them to further their investigation.”

Regardless, I doubt there will be that many people coming to trade in guns regardless of which group they choose to sell them to. . .

I doubt it'll look like a marketplace. If there is a lot of open carrying EBRs and tactical shotguns, the media will have a field day with that. . . just make sure that anybody who talks to a reporter is carefully crafting their thoughts into well-reasoned ideas that are succinct and cannot be clipped out-of-context.

If you say three sentences to a TV camera, they're likely to air four words. . . and they get to pick which four. Channel 5 came to my high school government class during the Monica Lewinsky / Kosovo ordeals. . . I was quoting a news report of a General in the classroom discussion, but the way they edited the clip made the words appear to be mine.

So, let me get this straight. You are willing to spend $300 or $400 for a firearm then you are going to hand it to an officer so he can run the numbers. If it comes up stolen you're going to turn it in.
Sounds like a trip to Vegas might be a better investment.

Of course you could walk across the street and get some of your money back. :smilelol5: "rlol"

No you didn't miss it, neither did I. My point is I think the media will twist this in a bad way and we dont need anymore of that. I will be there to show my support and just wanted to be clear on what I'm attending.
