29 days for first status update

12/12/12 - Filed electronic application (give or take a day)
12/13/12 - Fingerprints taken
12/14/12 - Took Class
12/15/12 - Required materials sent via Express Mail
12/17/12 - DPS Received Express Mail package with required materials (29 days of waiting begins)
1/15/13 - Background check under review (Status changed prior to 8:00 am this morning and I checked late last night. Maybe updates overnight?)
1/17/13 - Manufacturing Pending
1/18/13 - Manufacturing
1/19/13 - Mailed
1/22/13 - Received :thewave

I'm sure it's coincidence but on 1/14/13 I sent a very nicely worded email asking if 28 days was normal with no status update considering the holidays and increased workload. The next day my status changed for the first time. I'm sure they're doing the best they can with the staff they have.

Also, my status changed between 3:30 am and 6:20 am this morning. I'm beginning to feel confident the web site only updates once per day very early in the morning.

I mailed my documents in on 12-18 and on 1-15 my status changed to under review.

I am sure that there computer system runs a batch at midnight. I have worked for a few companies that everything that was entered in the system on a day would not show up till the next day because a (batch) is ran at 12:01. I am sure that is the reason that some of the other post say that there status changed on a Saturday.
