New range coming in late June to NW Houston

#1

Post by Velocity »

Just saw this in a posting on glocktalk.com - fairly excited over this as it's a lot closer to me than the other indoor ranges around Houston I'm aware of (and if it opens on time, should beat the summer heat!!).

This location is blocks away from Willowbrook mall off 249/1960 in NW Houston.

I'll keep in touch with the guy who is opening it and followup here once I know more....

"OPENING IN LATE JUNE, 2007! The Premier indoor shooting range and gun shop in Houston, Shiloh Shooting Range, 12703 Shiloh Church Rd Houston,TX 77066, off of FM1960 at Cutten Rd. Retailing Glock,STI, Springfield, KelTec, and (hopefully) Kimber."

That sounds great as its not that far for me either.
Going to Sportsmans in Humble is a heck of a drive from the Tomball
area.

The guy that I took my chl class from is working on opening an indoor range in the old Maaco building at 1960 and Perry road. Not sure how long before it will open.

Great News for Me!

As the crow flies, I live under a mile from the proposed Shiloh Shooting Range. Currently, I patronize Carter's or Hot Wells. Both of them are approximately 12-15 miles. I guess the only thing better than living within a mile of a range; would be living close to the PSC. I really envy you fellas down South. It's just not economical for me to travel that far.

Oh, and hopefully they will have reloading components. That would be great!

Reloading components can be purchased at http://www.10ring.com which is real close to willowbrook.

I look forward to both these ranges as I work in the Willowbrook area and would love to have an indoor range I could spend lunch at.
Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

Is it just me, or does the 10ring.com website not list an address at all. They have a storefront near Willowbrook? Where?

[5 minutes later]

edit for the above - of course, I click a few more links on the site, and there it is - http://www.10ring.com/contact.htm if anyone is interested.

...back to your regularly scheduled range discussions!

Hit this address via Yahoo maps, Reece's Antique Pieces is listed at this address. Will the gun range be located here as well? Any web site info?

Shiloh Range Update

#8

Post by 308nato »

I stopped at the building that is going to be the Shiloh shooting range
and he is hoping to open around the last of July. It is going to be a bit
small tho, like 5 or 6 lanes on the left and the same on the right.
they will have IDPA there also .
High power rifle AK's ,AR's and pistols also .
they are going to be dealing in Glocks and custom 1911's from STI here
in Texas and a few other brands.
Second floor will have CHL classes and other things going on.
The owner is in Austin taking the CHL instructers class for his lic. to
give classes.
They will be open from 11 am to 8pm I think he said Wed threw Sun .

That was the building's previous occupant (judging from the big "antiques" sign that used to be on the building).

The gun range will REPLACE that store.

No website (yet) that I'm aware of.

The second floor is not finished yet as they just installed steel beams
to support the weight of the floor, it will have 3/4 ply wood than 1 inch
steel plate and then another 3/4 ply wood ,I don't know how much room
but I would say the length of the building.

I wonder if the owner is interested in setting up something like the DFW gun range. I may have to stop by.

308Nato, is that you, Dennis?

Come on by anytime, guys! If the front door is open, that means that I'm usually in the back office. Just walk on in and come back there. The upstairs is where we are going to have the classes, we have about 2000 sqft of classroom space up there and will have 2 private lanes and a shoot house. The construction process is pure chaos, and the open date keeps getting pushed back!

10ring is a pretty neat place with good prices. They are located on Cypress North Houston, just South of Jones Rd, in an old shopping Center on the right (headed away from Jones Rd).

To stay well within the "10 year old daughter" rule, I'll just say that they have some very pretty and nice ladies employed there that are fairly knowledgable... (breathe).... MAMACITA!
Shiloh Indoor Shooting Range NOW OPEN!
12703 Shiloh Church Rd Houston,TX 77066
