Prayers for my niece

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Thank you for the update. At least now they know what they're dealing with, at least in part. Still praying for her.

As are we all.

This clearly is not a simple condition.

The current plan for Melissa is for colon surgery tomorrow. I am not certain what the exact procedure will be but am hoping this is at most a resection.

Thanks everyone! Melissa's surgery has been delayed until Friday. She sent Robert out on a hunt for some Bose noise canceling headsets today. That sounds like she has not lost her spunk :)

Hope the surgery goes well. She and Robert will continue to be in our prayers. Sounds like her spirits may be up a little if she's asking for headphones.

Good news! Melissa just got out of her surgery and is in the recovery room. Robert is elated.
The doctors removed the lower left quadrant of her colon and her appendix and cleaned everything up.
The outlook is good. The docs anticipate Melissa's colon will be able to be reattached in about a year.
So we are cautious but more full of hope.
