Good first day. Welcome to the forum.
My wife knew the first time I carried after getting my license, but not the first time I carried in church after I got an IWB holster. It's cool when someone that knows you so well can't tell.

The PT709 is a very easy gun to carry and conceal......It's my EDC. (most of the time)

Congrats!!
It is a cliche that most cliches are true, but then like most cliches, that cliche is untrue.
Re: First day carry today.
Congrats and welcome to the forum. My wife no longer asks if I'm carrying when we are out. She just wonders which one and where I am carrying.
Re: First day carry today.
Calm, cool, and collected. That's the way you should be. That said it did take me a while to reach that point....
Congratulations and welcome to the forum!

Re: First day carry today.
I got a 709 Slim about two months ago I really like this gun; had some issues breaking it in (mainly my fault for not cleaning the grease well enough) but has been flawless after that. I have a FoxX IWB hybrid holster and it's very comfortable to wear.

Not sure if worth mentioning this, or not - but it may be helpful to someone else. "... first time I carried in church....." where of course, you're not legally allowed to carry.C-dub wrote:Good first day. Welcome to the forum.

. . . you can LEGALLY carry in a church unless it is 30.06 posted.AndyChrist wrote:Not sure if worth mentioning this, or not - but it may be helpful to someone else. You are correct. I came back to delete my post and apologize. I was taught in CHL that you CANNOT carry in a church - just did a little research after seeing a couple posts here on the topic and it turns out you can - provided there is no 30.06 posted. Apparently they edited the statute at the end. I'm a little surprised my instructor was so forceful about a law that doesn't exist.

Re: First day carry today.
No need to apologize. There is a lot of confusion about carrying in a church.
I don't know if the law changed so fast after I received my CHL back in the mid 90's or I just found this Forum and a great instructor (Crossfire - one of our moderators), but I have learned a lot just from reading the Forum.
By the way Welcome to the Forum.
