Re: Electoral Votes
America has decisively turned the corner away from the constitutional principles of limited government and self-government to bigger government, more entitlement programs, irresponsible spending and unconstitutional policies.

Re: Electoral Votes
The decision has been made - the line has been crossed - to transform America into just another European style socialist nation. The ability for us to effect any change via the ballot box is gone.
This election has shown that more Americans want their government to coddle and provide for them than want to live life as free men. Granted, living free is much more difficult. Being taken care of is much easier. But in that process, we give up liberty. And this is the choice that has been made. I don't believe we will ever see another Republican as president since so many people now depend on government for their sustinance. Those who rob Peter to pay Paul can always count on the support of Paul.
I hope my fellow Americans find their chains lay lightly upon their wrists. I know mine won't.
I'm very pessimistic right now. For the next several years the gap between haves and have nots will continue to widen, the inner cities will continue to crumble, and we will drift toward a truly divided blue state, red state nation. Change will be slow. I do not see the GOP regaining the White House unless some catastrophe hits us. What I do expect is gradual decline in confidence in the dollar and ultimately a Chinese and Russian-led move to remove the dollar's reserve currency status. Then the Fed can't print any more money to pay the bills. At that point, we are Greece squared and the country splits apart.

At least that would be good for four years of laughs.sjfcontrol wrote:And Biden for President in 2016.

Re: Electoral Votes
At this point, I am about as bitter as one can get...so if the blue states choke, all I can say is "Don't blame me or mine". Us folks here in the so-called red states, the FREE states (for now) need to look at ways to network with and help each other...make sure contracts are in other Free States when possible, don't vacation in Blue States, don't buy products that primarily provide jobs to them. I understand that is a difficult proposition in our world today, but I'll give you a for instance. I refuse to buy another vehicle that isn't made in a factory in a Free State...will that limit my choices? Sure...but the last thing I want to do is keep some Michigan union hack in a job after the backstab they gave this nation last night. Let their union take care of them, or their "Glorious Leader", they obviously don't need me.Kythas wrote:The decision has been made - the line has been crossed - to transform America into just another European style socialist nation. We are one more step along the road to the Balkanization of the nation.
Long live the Republic of Texas.
I hope you just mean the NYC buildings.
I was asking because I thought it was pretty well known that the Pentagon was not a plane. Sorry to get off topic. I'll open in another posting.

I know know how my fellow Ohioians felt when LeBron James left our state, but this makes me sick. But look at all the red.

Re: Electoral Votes
Well, I see the stock market is rejoicing the election. Down 228 points in the first hour. What fun!

Re: Electoral Votes
No, either you were trying to be sarcastic and it isn't coming across very well or you misread sjfcontrol's post. Planes crashed in those three locations, although he mistakenly placed the Pentagon in DC. I also thought it was in DC.Glock_Tacular wrote: I was asking because I thought it was pretty well known that the Pentagon was not a plane. Sorry to get off topic. I'll open in another posting.

Re: Electoral Votes
My shooting buddy/neighbor and I just returned from doing our civic duty and taking election signs off the right of way around town. My buddy voted for the current POTUS. I didn't.C-dub wrote:I'm just beside myself. I have two nephews, one that can vote and the other one year too young, that are glad the obamanation was re-elected. They didn't get this from their parents. My brother and SIL both voted for Romney. How do you folks with liberal relatives deal with this? I love them, but I don't know if I'll be able to speak to them again without loosing it.
Thank goodness, this election is over and we have about a dozen great target backers each.

Re: Electoral Votes
The problem with this line of thought is that almost without exception (Texas being the current exception) red states take in more federal money than they pay in federal taxes.Kythas wrote:Oh, but they do need you, my friend.
