Wow. One mistake and he's out of a job. That's just sad.
I don't think it was a "mistake". I think he showed his true colors.

THIS.
No State shall convert a liberty into a privilege, license it, and charge a fee therefor. -- Murdock v. Pennsylvania
If the State converts a right into a privilege, the citizen can ignore the license and fee and engage in the right with impunity. -- Shuttleworth v. City of Birmingham

Really? So there's been a total of four publications made by this magazine, only one article by this editor with some rather silly statements, he makes a public apology for his misstatement, and people think he's "showed his true colors"? Frankly I think that is ridiculous. If he had a history of such statements, ok, I'd buy that and even jump on the bandwagon. But once?!?!?

I only hope that should you ever commit a mistake, you are not judged as harshly as he.

Maybe because it was his first article is the problem. If he had a history of supporting the 2A in other articles maybe he would have gotten some slack here. But, since it was his first article, right out of the gate he makes statements very reminiscent of what the Dems are spewing about "reasonable restrictions" and other such drivel.

RottenApple,

learn from Mr. Tsai's apology. This is how you do NOT do it.
First off, he didn't own the problem. He started talking about what a great guy he is.
Second, he didn't address the issue directly, he tried to restate his mistake.
Third, he started to apologize and own it.
Forth, he then attempted to blame someone else.
Fifth, he didn't address anyone that he might have hurt, ie the Advertisers.
Finally, he finishes with a mess of gee can't we all just get along?

That just tells me that he really DIDN'T believe he made a mistake.
Or that he doesn't know how to say he is sorry when he makes one.
Either way, the learning process will be painful, and I have no regrets that his outcome was that he is unemployed.
Statements like that need to be deal with immediately, and with full weight. There is no room for us to "give ground" to those that would take our rights away because "guns are scarwy."

Had he jumped out and said "RottenApple, boy I am sorry! What an ass I was for making such a stupid statement. I am so glad that y'all brought to my attention, what a silly, and detrimental thing that I said. I really blew it, and I hope that y'all can see past my error. I will strive to make sure our Rights as Gun Owners are never questioned negatively.
Please accept my apologies to our Readers, our Advertisers, and anyone that could be hurt by such a thoughtless paragraph of words. Stand with me as I work to right this wrong, and thank you once again to our great readership, that holds my feet to the fire when I make a mistake of this proportion!" Etc Etc.."

Nope. He leads off with "Golly, I am a Big 2A supporter, and really, this is what HK was telling me"

This once again points to my tag line:
"Life's hard. It's even harder when you are stupid."

Guarantee, the NEXT time he makes a mistake, he will own it, and fast.

There have been a LOT of true colors shown by many people over the last few weeks. Even a couple of ultra-conservative radio hosts I listened to occasionally said after the Aurora shootings that no civilian needed an "assault weapon".

I'm done giving people passes. Our cause is only going to stay strong if we get rid of the riff-raff who are just in it to make a buck.

Oh yeah! That is one of the biggest problems I have with O'Reily. Sometimes he get's me so :mad5 I just wanna :banghead: . But, I wouldn't call Bill ultra-conservative. Who were you thinking of?

Michael Savage is the main one that disappointed me. There was at least one other but I'm not sure who it was... I forgot about O'Reilly but I don't listen to him anyway.
