Apparently this is the paragraph that got him in trouble.Jumping Frog wrote:Yeah, but what the heck did he say that he is apologizing over?
“Like we mentioned before, the MP7A1 is unavailable to civilians and for good reason. We all know that’s technology no civvies should ever get to lay their hands on. This is a purpose-built weapon with no sporting applications to speak of.”

Good rebuttal from Silencer Co.

Honestly, how any industry mag could pander to the "only LE should have it" mindset is appalling.
HK doesn't get a pass either..

Statement from Harley Strategic Partners (sent to me by BCM)
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The Haley Strategic Partners team was disappointed to learn of an article and later, public comments, made by a editor at Recoil Magazine which indicated certain weapon systems were not suitable to be possessed or operated by responsible members of the American public. We take issue with this.
At Haley Strategic, we choose to train responsible citizens, law enforcement officers and military professionals in our courses ranging from basic to advanced Disruptive Environments. In short, we help Americans prepare. Weapons systems are tools. Tools built to preserve lives in life threatening situations. There is no reason to prevent responsible citizens from utilizing any tools that will improve their odds of surviving such an event.
We take this very seriously. Every person in at Haley Strategic believes that, as Americans, it is our responsibility to be prepared, both mentally and physically, for worst case events, whether they happen to ourselves and our loved ones, or innocent people caught in an unfolding tragedy.
As such, Haley Strategic Partners will indefinitely suspend all advertising and collaborative efforts with both Recoil Magazine and RecoilWeb.com.

Re: Recoil #4 Statement
I have a sneaking suspicion that this article was delibertly done like that for a reason, it's a publicity stunt to get free advertising. I knew about recoil magazine from issue #1, but I'm willing to bet a large part of our community didn't. Who is willing to bet that their press release and other advertising methods haven't paid off to get the circulation numbers they wanted so they did this. Now a large number of people know about them and will buy the magazine to see if there is any more stupid of this level in it. They hope that those people will continue to buy the magazine when they see the contents like the very photogenic ladies.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Re: Recoil #4 Statement
Silly and shortsighted. It could have been a simple misstatement as the apology claims. Now if they had a history of such statements..... Well, that's a different story.Rugrash wrote:A few high profile companies have already pulled their advertising:

A friend asked me if I had heard about this and I had forgotten about this thread. After finding it I went to the original link and noticed on the right side margin a F a c e b o o k post from this guy saying that he is stepping down as the Recoil editor effective immediately. It looked like it was posted about an hour ago.
