Re: His full Name is: Willard Mitt Romney
So I thought the Romney folks did a good job putting facts and examples around Romney's Mormon faith. Even if you're a skeptic of Mormonism, I think it's going to be hard to argue that Romney's behavior doesn't hold up to Christian ideals (IMO). Not only does he donate ~15% of his income to charity, but he donates his time, an even rarer gift for a person of his position and occupation. The stories of him and his family helping neighbors in need had me welling up several times, and there was enough real testimonial that I believe Romney is "that kind of man", even when people aren't watching. The man has more honor in his finger than Obama has in his entirety. Clearly Romney is a devoted family man as well.
I've felt the tide changing against Obama for some time.... You see it when so many people show up to support Starbucks gun policy and Chick-fil-a president Dan Cathy's stance on Gay Marriage. I think McCain realized the inevitability of an Obama win in 2008 and coasted the last 2 months. The same thing is happening today, in reverse. Obama is a goner. But unlike McCain, Obama is like a shark on the deck, flopping, gasping to breathe. Still dangerous to his last breath.
So, what will the next round of attacks against Romney be?.... Apparently Axelrod is preparing to attack Mormonism, with the hope that he can turn off enough Evangelical voters to allow his candidate to squeak by. I hope those that vote their religious beliefs first will see through this desperation for what it is.... Unworthy of a man that asks for our votes.

You can't stop the tide... Believe it... Spread the word and it will be contagious. These recent polls show Romney beginning to close the gap in seven key swing states—Wisconsin, Florida, Colorado, Nevada, Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. What’s more, according to an election model based on state-level economic data from the last eight presidential elections and put together by Colorado political science professors Kenneth Bickers and Michael Berry, “Romney will win the popular vote and take the White House with more than 300 electoral votes.”

I think they do so at their own peril. Even if evangelicals and mormons don't see eye to eye on some issues, I tend to think most will see an attack on Romney's Mormon faith not as an indictment of being Mormon as opposed to evangelical Christian , but as yet another assault on people of faith.RoyGBiv wrote: So, what will the next round of attacks against Romney be?.... It will backfire badly.
I kind of hope they try it.

Again, to the third party/protest voters, I offer the following:
http://godfatherpolitics.com/6843/u-s-e ... z25QKxJcSN
It just keeps getting better.Sunday, September 02, 2012
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 48% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns 44% of the vote. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.
Just prior to this past week's Republican National Convention, Romney trailed the president by two. Today’s four-point advantage confirms that the GOP hopeful has received the expected convention bounce.
Again, to the third party/protest voters, I offer the following:
http://godfatherpolitics.com/6843/u-s-e ... z25QKxJcSN
If you vote for anyone else than Romney, you are, in net effect, agreeing to the status quo because your "other" vote cannot possibly win. The math just doesn't work, and your vote could have gone to ensure the only realistically viable alternative to Obama at this time. The above poll shows Romney with a 4% lead. If history is a good predictor, Obama will also get some bounce after the DNC, and we'll be back to Romney by 1 or 2% with a 3% margin of error, which is basically a 50/50 split. Conservatives who desert Romney to vote for a third party candidate or protest by not voting will cause the ratio of Romney/Obama votes to shift in Obama's favor. Let's put it another way.....Obama's campaign staff are praying and beseeching their totems and idols that you will vote third party. There is a reason for that, and it ain't because they agree with your positions.I got an email from a friend of mine, like so many of us do, but instead of hitting the delete button, there was something in the email that caught my eye. I know this email has gone around a few times and some of you may have seen it, but for those of you who haven’t, I think it puts the federal monies in an understandable way.
Let’s now remove 8 zeros and pretend it’s a household budget:
- U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
- Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000
- New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
- National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
- Recent budget cuts: $ 38,500,000,000
I don’t know about you, but I can relate to the second scenario. I can also see how this family won’t be in their house very long before it is foreclosed and they have to file bankruptcy. Now realize that this family is us – All Americans – and it may not be too much longer before our creditors demand payment and take over our house (country).
- Annual family income: $21,700
- Money the family spent: $38,200
- New debt on the credit card: $16,500
- Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
- Total budget cuts so far: $3.85
Just as a real family would find themselves in vital need of a credit counselor, our nation is in the same situation. We desperately need someone with good business experience that can take over, cut spending, reduce the deficit and get the country back on the right track. President Barack Obama is the problem, not a solution. He is the main problem. We need a proven businessman like Mitt Romney. He saved companies like Staples from what seemed certain death and made them profitable. He can do it again if given the chance.

A third party vote is the strongest possible vote against the status quo. That's the truth no matter how much some people try to confuse the issue with guilt trips and double talk.

Re: His full Name is: Willard Mitt Romney
There's no confusion. The status quo is Obama in the White House. A vote for anyone other than Romney is a vote to leave Obama in the White House, that is, to maintain the status quo.hillfighter wrote:A third party vote is the strongest possible vote against the status quo. John 8:32
As for double talk, your citation John 8:32 is misplaced. The entire words of Jesus are "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." He was talking about Himself, not "truth" in general.

A vote against Obama is a vote against Obama. Denying that simple truth wins neither debates nor hearts & minds.

Uh, no. Simply, a vote against bee-oh is a vote that will remove him from office.hillfighter wrote:A vote against Obama is a vote against Obama. Denying that simple truth wins neither debates nor hearts & minds.

Re: His full Name is: Willard Mitt Romney
Now you are changing the focus, but the reason is obvious. First you erroneously stated "A third party vote is the strongest possible vote against the status quo." This was shown to be utterly absurd, as the only way to change the status quo is for someone to get enough votes to defeat Obama in November. The only person who can do this is Romney. You know this, but you try to avoid the truth with quaint buzz words and phrases.hillfighter wrote:A vote against Obama is a vote against Obama. Denying that simple truth wins neither debates nor hearts & minds.
Now you set a much lower standard for yourself by stating the obvious -- "A vote against Obama is a vote against Obama." Now that's a revelation! I don't care about the number of votes against Obama; I care about him losing the election and only votes for Romney will achieve that result.
Chas.
P.S.: Stop the condescending statements.
