Yeah, they don't want customers carrying either...

"**** associates are encouraged to monitor customers to ensure that the customer is not carrying a weapon or firearm. If it is apparent that a customer possesses a weapon or firearm, the **** associate must immediately notify management..........A customer who refuses to store and secure the weapon or firearm is grounds for management to call the police to issue a trespass warning and have the customer escorted off company property."

Our company CHL policy is simple. No firearms permitted inside Company buildings, except for legally-licensed CHL holders. Concealed handguns are to remain concealed. No handling of loaded weapons unless in a defensive use. Employees of the company may only carry in Company buildings with a valid TEXAS CHL. Employees who are Texas CHL holders must notify the Company in writing prior to carrying a concealed handgun inside Company buildings, and include a copy of their current Texas CHL.

Paraphrased, best I can recall it without digging out an Employee Manual. Simple enough, and reasonable enough.

:iagree: I presume that the list of CHL holders is kept confidential.

Don't bet on it. If they thought the information should be kept confidential, they wouldn't ask for it. We don't.

We all pretty much know who carries, we're a pretty close-knit bunch. It's a firearms-related business. Not many here that DON'T carry.

So why do they require that you notify the company?

When the parking lot bill passed, I remember some people getting upset about their employers requiring employees to notify the company they have a gun in the car. This sounds like the same type of logic.
When in doubt
Vote them out!
