I hope "excitement" is not being mistaken for "irresponsibility". I'm sure you were excited to get your CHL. I haven't seen anybody acting in such a manner that would be considered a game.

I hope you understand that carrying a loaded firearm in public places is not a game. I have read your posts and sat by quietly as some have acted like this responsibility is not serious business. I have carried since 1996 and have had an extensive military background doing nothing but shooting, both defensive and competitions. This isn't to be taken lightly. You or innocent bystanders may get killed due to your negligence. I strongly suggest that you attend classes and get proper instruction aside from the "tip of the iceberg" CHL class. You can't learn a whole lot in the brief time the state requires. This post is not intended to insult your intelligence or create confrontation but merely to open your eyes that carrying is a serious responsibility.

I do agree with you 100% that a CHL is a very serious thing and the CHL class is really pretty pathetic in teaching people how to handle or use a gun. I advocate people to take classes as I do my self on a regular basis. Yet I can see how mindless banter and chit chat between people could lead others to think we do not take things seriously. This is the internet, this is a forum and people talk.. sometimes people try to be funny. Please do not judge. I do not know the background or knowledge of anyone on this board, and they don't know mine, and frankly I like it that way.

From what I can tell the letter will post mark the day after it shows up as mailed.. so if you show up as mailed on a friday, chances are your letter wont go out until Monday the following week.. I am hoping mine changes to Mailed tomorrow morning, so that would mean it will post mark on Thursday and I will get it Friday (I know wishful thinking but I assume it comes out of Austin)

This is just from looking at peoples progresses on the board.. just my theory...
