CHL lapsing???

Post by stevie_d_64 »

Something I am wondering about...

"Wife-Unit" let her CHL lapse last year...And we recently got our packets in the mail and will be renewing very soon...

Has anyone had a problem, as long as you resubmit, and get your packet off before the deadline (I have been told its one year after it expires) that you won't be penalized "fees" to renew?

We'll definitely have the packets, class and it all mailed off to Austin by the first week in April...

Mine obviouly is not going to be a problem...I'm just not sure if hers will be given additional scrutiny or delayed for any other reason...

Like I said, just curious to know if anyone has an experience or idea about this...

One of our fine instructors will confirm but I believe you have a yr to renew. You just cant carry in the gap.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

Just be sure they have it in their hands before the 1 year anniversary of expiration.

Stevie_d,

You better get out there and check her inspection sticker and registration too.

Sounds like you're not doing YOUR job. ;-) ................OE

I just got mine back after doing the same thing. My birthday was Feb. 19th, I took the class on Feb. 3rd and mailed the packet on Feb. 5th. I received my license on Mar. 15th. Just make sure that hers gets to Austin before the date that it expires.
