Doesn't the theatre post "no weapons/no guns" type signage that has to be followed regardless of the local or state restrictions?
There is no presumption that your security is provided for against criminal intent at a movie theater.
Or at least I dont, nor anyone I can think of... Nor any other privet business.

Reasonable safety precautions for fire, and roof falling in, and food poising, sure.. But if you are going to a move theater with a preconceived notion that your personal security is being provided for, I think that’s excessive...and not something I most people want.. Heck SCOTUS has even stated the police are not responsible for your personal security.. if not the police, do we really thing a privet business should be held to a higher standard?

In CO, (IANAL) my understanding is, signs of any type mean nothing, they have no force of law unless the location or place is already off limits by law.. A privet property owner must specifically express you are not welcome.. then if you stay your trespassing.

This is my understanding as well.

State Senate Bill 03-024

SECTION 1.Article 12 of title 18, Colorado Revised Statutes, is

The way I read it ...
Regarding licensed concealed carry: At the places which are government property which have "no guns signs", the signs have no effect upon a licensee, unless it's a place listed, such as the elementary school, court .... however regarding open carry, municipalities may restrict open carry in public buildings under 18-12-104 (it was 105 that was repealed)

I could be wrong since anything I read from North of Amarillo makes little sense to me. I didn't go all through their Property, Real section nor look into trespassing etc etc .. I just skimmed/ speed glanced at it.

THIS incident is why you should carry everywhere it is not ILLEGAL to carry. That means, for those of you who say that you won't carry past "Gunbuster" or other similar type unenforceable signs, carry EVERYWHERE that isn't either Federal property, properly placarded per 30.06, or off-limits by other LEGAL signage or locations under THE LAW. Or, alternatively, don't go into the place at all but stay armed. There will never be any proof of it, but it is POSSIBLE that SOMEONE let the MOVIE THEATER'S policy of "no firearms" stop them from carrying. I'd rather operate on the idea that its better to have and not need, than need and not have...I've slacked off lately, carrying "off-body" in a case because its "easier". No more, unless I HAVE TO.

:iagree:
The laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.

Hey guys long time lurker. Finally decided to sign up.

I carried in CO twice last year, over a month total. I have family that lives there. Some south of Denver, some in Estes Park.
All of my research led me to the opinion that you can carry anywhere they dont have metal detectors or no gun signs. The only time I had to disarm was going to a NHL game in Denver. Like Texas, the cities cant override state law. And like TX you can carry in you vehicle without a permit. I didn't really see many places that banned guns. Casinos were even ok.

You dont have to get very far outside a city for bears and mountain lions to become an issue. My uncle has had bears break into his and surrounding neighbors garages trying to get at trash, mountain lions hanging on his porch. So lots of people own guns.
