Here's a story of another CHL that did well under pressure.

A driver for a local pizza place in an area of Columbus, Ohio went to a house at night to make a delivery.

His spidey senses were tingling. He had the pizza in his left hand and his right hand was on his gun (brand/model/caliber
was not stated).

From the side(s) of the house, 2 hoodie-wearing robbers approached with shotguns. The GG drew, fired 5-6 rounds and hit
both of the BG's. One went to the hospital, where his wounds were not specified by hospital staff. The 2nd was on the run,
but texted his relatives that he had been hit twice.

The pizza place owner knew that this employee had his CHL, but did not know that he carried on the job.
The owner wants his employees to just give up any money to robbers.

That way the money won't be bloodied after they shoot the delivery guy.

Good for him stopping a crime, hopefully he will not get fired for protecting himself and the community.

I understand the gigantic liability that a business owner incurs nowadays, but it is just a sad fact that pizza delivery drivers are targets, and when they defend themselves so they can go home to their families at the end of their shift more focus is put on them as the bad guys instead of the perps who got shot while committing a felony. Seems like "Just give them the money" is a common theme, which call still result in death when the perps don't want any witnesses.

Hopefully the all the wannabe robbers in the Columbus area now know that trying to rob the pizza guy can be hazardous to their health and illegal livelihood.

Exactly. The pizza delivery guy did not shoot the armed robbers to keep them from taking the pizza. He did not shoot them to keep them from taking the MONEY. *HE SHOT THE ARMED ROBBERS TO PREVENT THEM FROM CARRYING OUT THEIR THREAT OF KILLING HIM WITH THE SHOTGUNS THEY WERE AIMING AT HIM*.

As info, it wasn't Papa John, it was a local pizza joint called Padova's.

Looks like he won't get fired. From the article:
Padova’s Pizza owner Robert Steven said . . . .that he was concerned with how his long-time employee would deal with the shooting.

“He is just too good of a person, and I have known him too long, and I hope he doesn’t have mental anguish over this,” Seven said.
Regarding your next point:

Wait, what?!?
The man who was struck by bullets, identified as 20-year-old Cortez Bradley, was transported to Grant Medical Center. Investigators said that the second suspected robber, Bradley’s 16-year-old cousin, fled the scene and sent a text messages to family members, indicating that he was shot twice.
[...]
The identities of the suspected robbers were not released.

Boss, I promice I was not defending your few $$$s. They can have it ALL including what is back at the store register, all in the safe, let them clean out the checking acct, & your IRA too.
I was defending my life against 2 shotguns. All YOUR money means nothing to me. That's why I bring it back & hand it to you after every delivery I make & only keep my tips.
Want proof of this???
When I am on a delivery & the shotgun carring robbers come in the store for that register money, safe $$$s, & want a to take you to the ATM for more, you text me w/ the location. Give me an ETA & see if I will protect your $$$$$$$$$$$$$s. :leaving

"" Ohio law gives immunity to employers who allow concealed carry."

WE NEED THIS. Maybe more employers would allow cc.

Kuddos to the driver.

My company policy is No Guns, and the stated reason I heard was "liability". Of course, I'm sure the hoplophobic HR folks would still say no. :nono:
