Certainly appears that way. But perhaps he is more of a lurker than a poster. I lurked for a couple weeks before joining posting. Or maybe life just got in the way. It does that sometimes.

Thanks for all the replies, that was a lot of help. I went back and checked on the hospital carry and you were correct - CHL holders can carry unless the hospital has properly posted.

Afaik, ALL ETMC faciliries are posted; however, the lettering is white on a clear background and is closer to 3/4" than 1" in height. What do you suppose is the intent of ETMC? As has been repeatedly debated herein, arguing the size of the letters or the exact wording of a 30.06 type sign before a judge could get quite expensive.

...if you don't think 1/4" means that much on letter size...try cutting your 12 ga. to 17 3/4"...IF they ever spot me carrying past an unenforceable sign...I'll sure not roll over for it...the law means what it says to us and for us...if we fight it instead of caving in...getcher popcorn, 'cause it will be worth watching...in Texas, intent doesn't mean squat...it's did WE or did THEY fulfil the letter of the law...

I am fairly new to concealed carry, having just recently got my license in Texas. I understand about concealed carry being prohibited at hospitals in Texas, but what about at an office not connected to a hospital, such as a dentist or eye doctor? Are these also prohibited?

Harris Methodist Southlake has the white on clear glass sign that is in no way "contrasting" Depending on your angle of approach to the door, the sign completely disappears. I didn't take the time to physically measure the letters but I suspect that they are not 1"

But I was already out $thousands for my wife's surgery there and didn't want to play triple or nothing on that amount for carrying past the sign, however invalid it might be. I'm a lot more tempted to ignore the 30.06 signs that specifically reference parts of the TPC that no longer exist. Arguing letter size or contrast takes the risk to a level that I'd prefer not to try.

My doctor is considering giving a discount to those who have a CHL and who exercise it. I kid you not. She and her husband are both NRA Life Members and he's a fellow pilot. He's also a big-time reloader.

She has a sign on the door to her practice stating that if you favor Obamacare or any other form of government-run healthcare, turn around and leave because you will not be treated.

My dentist's husband is a fanatical hunter, NRA Life Member, etc and his wife is absolutely pro-gun and pro-Second Amendment.

I have another doctor who is a specialist and he too is an NRA Life Member, owns several guns, has his CHL and is hugely conservative.

My FAA AME is more conservative than I am, if that's possible.

I qualify my doctors by unabashedly asking them where they stand on the Bill of Rights, the Second Amendment and the Constitution. If I don't like their answers, I tell them and then I leave.

Lettering appeared to be over 2 inches tall and they had a black background to accentuate the white lettering. Nice sign. Had to go back to the parking lot and lose some weight.
