Since I train dogs for protection I gotta ask. Are your dogs actually trained for this or are they just really protective and capable?

If you're shooting the dogs, I suggest JHP types of ammo instead of FMJ.

That was apparently a horrible way for me to ask a question. What kind of ammo do yall trust your lives with, opinions, suggestions?

I think there's no magic bullets and any premium JHP from a good company will do. I got a good deal on Golden Saber so I carry that.

I understand the whole magic bullet such as glazers and magsafes which arent proven very reliable. Ive done quite a bit of research on the guard dog rounds trying to find something bad about them and the only thing I have found that is "bad" is that they only penetrated 9 inches into ballistic gel after passing through 2 1/2 inch pieces of sheetrock and a couple layers of denim. In my mind correct me if im wrong but that sounds like a perfect self defense round also considering hollow points tend to penetrate further which doesn't seem necessary guard dogs are also a fmj profile obviously meaning great feeding reliability with consistent expansion. Im not trying to get on a soapbox just explaining my thoughts on the subject.

In the house Shotgun, 12 ga. No. 4s followed by 00Buck, extended mag with extras of each in side saddle

5.56 Carbine: Hornady TAP .223 and/or M193 ball

357 Carbine: .357 JHP or Semi Jacketed HP (Not a tier 1 choice perhaps, but quite capable given time to load it)

Rifle: .30-06 of whatever variety (Hard to consider using this in a "Defensive" role, though, with other options mentioned available)

EDC: 9MM Gold Dot 124gr +P

Deep Conceal: .380 Hornady Critical Defense
