...according to the lawyers I've seen evaluating the speech, these aren't prosecutable threats...time will tell...though raw and uncomforting, these statements are general predictions relating to how bad things are getting and the fervor with which we need to hit the polls in November...but those who value peace and safety above freedom...gdanaher wrote:"I'll tell you this right now: If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said. "We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Any questions?"
He might find himself locked up for awhile. Threats should be taken seriously. And as a public person I suspect charges could be brought if someone else attempted something and pointed to his comments as the nexus.

I'm more surprised he was telling people to rally around mit romney if the want to keep the freedom they have. Ask any gun owner from mass what that means. Lol romney does not support the 2 amendment his actions as govenor prove that. As far as the rhetoric goes it happens on both sides all the time just barry is being a little sensitive when its lobbed his way. Remeber what they used to say about bush.

Re: Uncle Ted being investigated by Secret service
It really irritates me that the left can be as vile as they like, rude, nasty and belittling of any one on the rights humanity. But heaven forbid if someone on the right engages in a bit of hyperbole.
The way I understood his comments was not that he would do something stupid to land himself in jail
, but that who he is and what he belives would be criminalized by the Obama regime. With what has happened in the past four years with executive order after executive order being made as law is that really so hard to imagine?
As far as the 'off with his head comment" that is political hyperbole. You could just as easily say "down with Obama, a petty king in his own mind." I think his cdomments were rather comical and blowing off some steam.

...Nugent may be a redneck...and that ain't all bad!!! At least he's smart enough to encourage support for the one "Republican" who has a chance to beat the incumbent this fall...and to realize that if patriots don't UNITE behind him, sorry politician that he is...and insure his victory over the incumbent, we're doomed to 4 more years of obummer...those are our ONLY two choices...IF we make the correct choice in November, we'll have opportunity to improve our options...if we DON'T...

Good point. Obama has been tugging on tiger tails for more than three years.AndyC wrote:Don't tug on the tiger's tail to show off and claim shock if it bites back.

What is the "very definite, implied threat" (interesting word combo ) to the POTUS?AndyC wrote: "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year"
I feel differently; there's a very definite, implied threat in those words. If I were on Obama's detail, I wouldn't be laughing at this.
You have inferred there to be a threat to the POTUS, but you are connecting the dots in your own mind. If the SS wants to get a clarification on the context, so be it - should be a brief inquiry..

Re: Uncle Ted being investigated by Secret service
Remember this one? Granted it wasn't aimed at the POTUS, but still could be considered to be a threat to a U.S Legislator and his family. I don't remember hearing whether or not the FBI investigated Alec Baldwin over it...probably not.
I wouldn't have said what Ted said, but if he gets in legal trouble for trying to whip up some voting enthusiasm in a roomful of friendlies, I'd have a big problem with that considering all the hyperbole from the Left directed at Republicans.Alec Baldwin wrote:“I’m thinking to myself if we were in other countries, we would all, right now, all of us together, . . . would go down to Washington and we would stone [Republican U.S. Representative] Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death! Wait! . . . Shut up! No, shut up! I’m not finished. We would stone Henry Hyde to death, and we would go to their homes and we’d kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families.”

I think what some are suggesting is that a redneck does not have to talk and act like a redneck...and I agree. We are stereotyped enough by certain career politicians, the liberal, lying media, et al, without going out of our way to prove them to be correct. Don't you agree?speedsix wrote:

...not across the board, I don't...I think the problem is with the way those who use the term in a disparaging manner choose to apply it...if you're loud, angry, and outspoken...they call it redneck...I think the folks on Bunker Hill would have rankled at that..."redneck" can be disparaging, it can also be a badge of honor(working man) and a source of a lot of humor...and wealth if your initials are J.F....
...I can be polite, urbane, and educated in my expressions...and I can also behave ignorantly, in an uncouth, obnoxious manner...so can Ted...
