Any cheap FFL transfers in the Austin area? Prefer someone that has a regular store front.
"Cheap" as in $15 or less.

I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.

I have been using a FFL dealer out of Leander. This past week we bought a CZ Custom pistol and had them ship it to him.
But FedEX has been unable to deliver because the dealer isn't at home and the he isn't returning messages left on his voice mail (5 days now).
Mean while, my $1200 pistol is in limbo bouncing around in the back of some FedEx truck. Needless to say, this is a real pain.

At this point, I'd rather avoid the potential hassle of dealing with another "kitchen table" firearms dealer.

I frequent GT Distributors often but had no idea they did outside transfers. Thanks for the heads up.

I've done one transfer w/ GT. Just be prepared to wait for them to call (may take them a day or two after they take delivery) & they charge sales tax on the transfer fee. It looks like Austin charges $15 plus tax - guess that puts them over the "cheap" threshold too... :smilelol5:

ETA: Ameer already posted the url for GT & their xfer fees.

Does the Dallas GT Dist location do transfers?? I'd rather deal with an established business since I won't be home for a while.

Does Dallas have a GT Distributors? I was only aware of the Austin, Tx and Rossville, Ga stores...
Yes, it's on Perimeter drive (off LBJ southeast of Shiloh & NW Hwy - it's not far from Rusty Wallace Honda). It's $10 plus tax at that location and like I mentioned, you need to be patient if you see a delivery but don't hear from them for a couple days. They're very deliberate and even have a second employee/supervisor verify paperwork, ID, Item desc. & SN, etc. when you pick up.

Can I "third" that vote? I hear that Old Cannon place is THE BEST

Better still -- he only has one employee, so there's no delay in having a second employee double check all that paperwork "rlol"
