1st day on site and already out of waiting room

#1

Post by azaohoe »

I just found this site today when I typed "how long do I have to wait for my CHL" in Google. This site popped up, and I checked it out...I was thrilled to see I was not the only one freaking out about getting my CHL in a (somewhat) timely manner. Well, I was going to get on and put myself in the waiting room, then I checked the mail.....WOOOHOOOO... It came in! Only 78 days :o !

Now I have many things to do as I had no idea that I am not official until I "Wally Walk" (try Googling that!).....my wife says it's official...I'm nuts....

Anyway, here are the specifics...

Class: 12/03/06
Paperwork Received: 12/15/06
"License Issued" according to DPS website: 2/26/07
Plastic in Hand: TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

Congrats!! 78 days? That's too long IMO, especially at $140.00! But, better than never, I guess.

Remember, you're not a gun nut, but a gun enthusiast!

Congrats on getting your plastic.
I hope that mine does not take that long. I am at about 40 days and waiting. I was hoping to get it before March 15 because I will be going out of town for the week and dont want to worry about taking my handgun with me. Plus I wanted to get my Wally Walk done before we left for the trip.

I have to qualify my excitement at getting my plastic in 78 days....I was so forlorn after 77 days that I found this site and read that some had waited over 100 days... That freaked me out big-time. So when I checked the mail the same evening and I had my card, I was just overjoyed...
I have to admit though that I was also let down just a little bit.....After all of this time and all of the excited trips to the mail box, I was expecting something more than just a plain envelope with nothing more than the card in it....
I guess maybe I expected some confetti to pop out or something...maybe a little musical card playing "We Are The Champions"....heck, anything but a plain white envelope. Ahhh well, it will all be worth it when I get my Wife out with me to the store and ask "does this holster make me look fat?"

I have to admit, if it was not this long, and this hard, it might not seem so rewarding...

My wife and I are members of the 100+ day club. Please let us know how the Wally Walk goes… be sure to get extra cheese on the nachos. Let us know about your carry rig.

Be safe
