Buy More Ammo Day-Feb. 19, 2007

It may sound silly at first but it's an excuse to go buy some ammo and stock up.
Why the third Monday of February? Because that is President's day, and most of America's Presidents were men who appreciated firearms, and who approved of an armed citizenry. For example..

I just may need to go add a few more boxes of .45 plinking ammo to my supply tomorrow. I find it hard to resist buy ammo day.

National Ammo Day has been going on for several years now. In fact, it's expanded to a full week, every November. But President's Day sounds like a good excuse to "load up" as well!

There's also National Buy A Gun Day, on (when else?) April 15. Also started by Kim du Toit.

I do try to support every such holiday as much as the budget will allow.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

I find that is a valid reason to stock up. The price looks like it’s going up with no end in site as the price of metal keeps going up and up. See if I can get my local gun shop to give me a discount because of this very important day…if not there is always Wal-Mart.

Any day is a good day to buy ammo...

But to be honest there are just some days that it makes sense...

Election day ranks right up there with tax day to name a couple...

Tax day happens to also be the day after our wedding anniversary...So call us a couple of sick people I suppose...

Don't limit yourselft to ammo purchases for these occasions. For the past few years, I have a tradition on election day. First, go vote. Second, go buy ammo. Third, go shooting. ;-)
