.45 ammo prices

#1

Post by Right2Carry »

I hope this is in the right place if not then I hope the MODS move it to the correct area.

Anyway I went to Wally World in Mansfield and noticed .45 ammo is up quite a bit. I was able to pick up CCI Blazer Brass FMJ 230Gr for 10.97 a box (50). Now that is not bad for plinking ammo. Anyway just wanted to let everyone know about the price.

The price is up everywhere that I have checked. I just paid 26.95 for 100 bulk pack WWB at Wal-Mart.

Yep I saw that and Hollow points were like 32.00. I have shot Blazer Brass before and for the price right now it can't be beat. They also had a 250 pack of UMC for 63 bucks.

I haven't had any problems with Blazer Brass.

I just purchased 4 boxes of Winchester Ranger 147 Grain (9mm) for $20.00 a box. I also bought 2 boxes of Winchester Rangers 230 Grain (.45) for $25.00 a box. Had to pay shipping. But, sent to my house was still cheaper than the DFW gun range.

The cost of reloading components have gone up too. All metal prices have climbed.

Last i checked, CCI Blazer 9mm are like 5.86 for 50 count at the Academy around here.

Doesnt the price spike have some thing to do with the luxury tax?

Following what steel did a few years back, the costs of copper, brass, even lead have all spiked in the last few months/years. The manufacturers are mostly just passing it on ...

A little good news for our range tho as we recycle the lead and even lots of the brass. Pricing from the recyclers have gone up too, to the point that a 5 gallon bucket full of 9mm brass goes for about $60.

Is that for Brass or Aluminum Cased ammo? Wally world is alot closer to me for the 10 cents differance and its Brass.
