Does anyone esle go out naked in the rain?

#1

Post by rescuetech »

I got up this morning, after a bright and noisy night, to the welcome sight of continued rain. As I dressed for work I left my Bodyguard .380 in the safe not wanting to run the risk of a soggy sidearm and I have felt naked all day.

Do you all leave the pistola at the la casa when it rains?

Work does on occasion keep me in the elements for long periods of time.

Absolutely never

That's what Stainless steel, Rain-suit jackets .... and Glocks are for.

If you go through flooded areas and swimming pools, get the $10.00 Marine/Maritime Spring cups

It wasn't why I went with Glock. It's just a perk.

When your pistol and all it's little pieces-parts are thoroughly coated with Eezox, you don't worry about going swimming with it. :coolgleamA:

A gun is a tool not a piece of fine art. A little water won't hurt it provided you take care of your tools properly. I know it's a pain to take it apart and clean and dry it but, what would you have done if you needed it?

I wouldn't pick an EDC weapon that I was worried about getting wet, or dirty.

I wouldn't own a weapon or a vehicle that can't handle a little rain. Maybe toys for the range or track, but not tools.

lol me too

I ran across it researching The Rifleman type toy gun I used to have, it was like Hubley's cap gun, same pop down cap "magazine" but had Mattel's flip up thing to act on the trigger instead of a lump (whereas the original had an adjustable screw, but the flip up thingy worked better than any other method) I haven't found one like I had exactly
flip up thingy, I recall my flip up trigger actuator thingy being attached on both sides of the lever,

Mattel's flip up trigger activator/actuator thingy

Hubleys "lump" (Although it bore "The Rifleman" official name, it was less accurate (wrong stock and etc) than others bearing "the flipper" name or something IIRC

Original method on one of the two types in the show (flatter lever used in the later shows)

No. For one thing, I don't stand around and let myself get soaked. For another, water won't kill your gun. You just have to make sure to dry it off and re-lube it when you get home.

Unfortunately I do! I work out three days a week outside in a public park and I have tried everything I can, even the belly bands and having a little piece of iron around your groan area when working out (extreme cardio) is not easy. I carry a pocket knife and mace and have a pistol locked in the truck only 50 feet away but it might as well be 500 if I need it in a hurry! I just did it today. I hate it!
