WTB Looking for a new Daily Carry

#1

Post by garcia946 »

Going to Big Town Gun Show tommorow to look or get ideas on a new CC. I currently carry a G27 but looking for something maybe smaller/lighter.
Like to stay with a semi-auto..... Looking to spend maybe $400 or I have a G22 I may want to trade.
Any ideas or anyone have something they may like to part with. :tiphat:

My daily carry is a Springfield XD9sub compact, other than your G27 being a .40 Cal, they are basically the same sized weapons.
I easily carry it in my crossbreed holster.

That being said, a few months ago, I picked up a pocket carry for those times when it just is not feasible to put my crossbreed on.
A Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380.
it has a long trigger pull, with an internal hammer, but if you squeeze the trigger, it is spot on and it has a built in laser, but honestly, I never use it
Fits easily in my jeans and shorts pockets with a pocket holster.

Ive shot a Bodyguard , wasnt crazy about it. But thanks for the suggestion.... :thumbs2:
Also had a LCP I just dont like the long trigger on them. Ive shot a Sig P238 and loved it but not crazy with the price, but I know you get what you pay for.

I have an LCP, P238, G27, CW40, CW9 and a Kimber Ultra Carry...save your money and buy the P238. I would not have voiced my opinion if you had not said such glowing things about it. :tiphat: LOVE my P238! Still have not shot the Kahrs but I have racked them a 1000 times each to help with their break in...and yeah, you are right, you get what you pay for. Just my 2 cents.

I love my LCP with Crimson Trace. I don't even notice the supposedly long trigger pull. I've shot a P238 before, and while I like Sig, I don't care for the P238 that much. To each his own. I hope you find something awesome!

P238s were $439 @ the gun show last weekend. Worth the $40 in your budget IMO considering how well they shoot (IMO, they shoot far better and more accurately than the others on your list). I was sorely tempted...

I bought my 238 in '10 and got it for 440 here in SA, Tx. They are quite cheap now. I don't know if you're interested in a model that includes night sights, or the laser? Different finish? My 238 that I purchased was just contrast sights and nitron finish (blue, basically), nothing more. Works really well and even though the 238 has had a lot of bad reputation when it first came out, I'm glad to report I have not had one single problem with mine since day one. Just break it in, and you're good to go.

I think it's worth paying 40 extra more dollars for.

smaller/lighter ? than a G27 ?

To back up my Glock 26, when I carry it, I carry a slightly smaller/lighter P11 in my front pocket with the 12 round mag too.. I own lots of .380s, but they are not carried.

I intend to get a Compensated DB9 in Stainless and then maybe sell my PT709 and PF9... after I try it out.

You can look at the Kahr cw series 45/40/9 and the new cm9 all under 400 bucks on buds. Personally I like Khar, their triggers are smooth with crisp breaks and the recoil is very controllable.

I have a Kahr CM9 I'm willing to part with. Only has about 100 rounds down the tube, all of which were problem free. The gun just didn't fit my intended carry purpose (ankle carry). Let me know if you are interested.
