I suggest trying to be nicer to her. I understand they like shiny things. Especially if made of carbon...
I have found that Vitreous Corundum also works well especially if accompanied by carbon.

My monthly Vonage bill is increased by over 41% due to taxes, fees and other charges.
And why am I charged an "Intellectual Property Fee"?

Magic Jack here, no monthly bill, no monthly taxes/fees no County/City/Municipal charges... same Internet, I paid something like $69.00 for 5 years in 2008, I'll pay again in a couple more years for another 5 years worth.

Free long distance and local calls, and 911 works

Verizon "data only" phone line and Internet costs me $21 a month .... and I tell everyone I do not want to give my phone number to "I do not have *telephone service* where I live" and it's the truth.... I cancelled "telephone" and just use the Internet.... like Vonage does, but cheaper.

I plug a "main/base" wireless/cordless phone into the Magic Jack, and have 4 other "satellite" phones on chargers around the house in bedrooms etc.

41%? Yeouch.

I pay by the minute with my LD carrier, but my usual monthly bills are under $20. Often under $12. Guess if you're not chatty, Vonage isn't always the best answer.
And I have to admit - I use an IP phone for work all day - sometimes the connections are such that it is completely unusable. I hang up and try again and sometimes it gets better. I and my co-workers have gotten used to learning to identify and work around the 3 to 4 second delay between speaking and being heard that happens regularly. I know 3 seconds doesn't sound like much, but try to have a conversation where it takes 3 seconds from what you say to be heard by your partner, and then have them respond. Makes for a very disjointed conversation, believe me. You learn to start talking like in the old-tyme movies about transAtlantic calls where you say a phrase, then pause and wait for the response. :-)

I know some if not all of this is a repeat, but felt inclined to share.

"If you own a gun, you will appreciate this. If not, you should get one and learn how to use it:
A; Guns have only 2 enemies -rust and politicians.
B; It's always better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
C; Cops carry guns to protect themselves, not you.
D; Never let someone or something that threatens you get inside arms length.
E; Never say "I've got a gun." If you need to use deadly force, the first sound they hear should be the safety clicking off.
F; The average response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes, the response time of a .357 is 1400 feet per second.
G; The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always win, if necessary, cheat.
H; Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets. You may get killed with your own gun, but he'll have to beat you to death with it, cause it'll be empty.
I; If you're in a gun fight: 1. If you're not shooting, you should be loading. 2. If you're not loading, you should be moving. 3. If you're not moving, you're dead.
J; In a life and death situation, do something. It may be wrong, but do something!
K; If you carry a gun, people may call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?
L; You can say 'stop' or 'alto' or any other word, but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone's head is pretty much a universal language.
M; You cannot save the planet, but you may be able to save yourself and your family.
If you support your 2nd Amendment rights, please share!"
