Kershaw Tanto Blur

I was looking at automatics but the Kershaw that I ended up getting has such a fast assist open that I really didn't see much point in spending so much more money on an auto knife.
I'm very happy with the Blur.

I have a blur and it was a very nice knife, but my go to knife lately has been a SOG visionary 2.

3.75" blade, 8.37" overall. I prefer their arc lock system to the traditional liner lock. Feels VERY stable. Its still not as good as a full tang fixed blade knife, but it feels really solid for a folder.

What's your Favorite EDC knife and why?

I had been carrying a Kershaw Ken Onion BLUR which I loved! I lost it and have been carrying a SOG ll (Christmas gift) which I'm not in the LEAST bit impressed. It is flimsy, one day fishing at the beach with it and it's now all rusted, the "safety" is a pain and the open assist is slow and cumbersome.

You mentioned the sog 2, but there's no knife by that name? Did you mean the flash 2? I have the visionary 2 and have been very impressed. Carry it even when I won't carry a gun if I'm doing something paticuarly sweaty or in the rain. No rust issues for me. Just wanted to clarify what knife you were actually unhappy with.

I carried a Benchmade mini-grip (555HG) for a long time. I still carry it on weekends but during the week I switched to a Kershaw Chill sans clip at the new job. Subjectively, the Chill carries easier in dress slacks, but is still big enough to be useful for cutting apples and whatnot.

CRKT M16. It's a bear of a knife, but it holds it's edge well, it's not too expensive, and it's quick enough to use as an absolute last resort for self defense.

This is what I'm carrying while I'm waiting for my license. I added the pepper spray to my EDC after the incident at Walmart that I posted about a few weeks ago.

Just got a CRKT m21-04. Its a bit bigger than the M16 series, but I like it a lot so far.

Its a big knife, but I wear cargo shorts and jeans mostly anyway, so the pockets are big enough its not an issue.

I'll probably wind up making a detailed post about it later in the week if I really like carrying it.

Colt AR-15K folder. They are no longer made, but I think they were manufactured by United cutlery.

if i could only take one knife forever , its gonna be a spyderco atlantic/pacific salt
at home i carry a pointed blade pacific salt sometimes serrated sometimes straight depending on my mood

but at work offshore i carry a blunt nose atlantic salt .. if you happen to be an offshore diver , then you know this knife has completely taken over the market for diving knives and deck knives in a salt water environment for the last 7 years . im currently out with 6 other divers and we all carry 2 of them in the water daily , these knives will not rust , we rarely clean them , and regardless they will sit in a puddle of saltwater 24/7 . ive carried these for about 6 years , never broke one and never seen one rust . and these knives get abused beyond most any knife .
the serrated are my favorite and they cut no matter how dull but are sharpened very easy by just taking down the flat backside occasionally .
spyderco will also sharpen your knives if you send back to them (ive never had to ) 6 years of cutting up to 4 inch poly rope, nylon straps , metal wire .
the handle leave some to be desired to be a "combat knife " but im not rambo either
i have other knives i carry time to time . but if i had to choose one ,,,,,spyderco salt

My bad... Sorry, yeah the SOG Flash 2... I still have it and it is now a permanent addition to my tackle box seeing as it is already rusted up... :smilelol5:
Just received a Kershaw Blur Tanto from Santa and I'm in love once again... Always loved the Blur!

ESEE Izula fixed blade most of the time. In the sheath it fits into my business attire easily and its tough as nails. Also have a Kershaw Bump and Mini Mojito that see some use.

I thought I'd resurrect an old thread. Since I didn't want to just start a new thread (though I should, considering this is 2 years old now) so here it is.

(Left side)Top to bottom:
Bear and Sons Butterfly Knife: Never use it, but it's American made and a great fondling knife
Sog Seal Pup: I keep this at my house and never use it, but it looks great
Sog Field Pup: I use this occasionally for when I go out of town and need a decent knife to cook with. Also use when I camp.
KaBar 2752: My father's old knife - well, one like it. My father carried this knife since before I was born and I liked it so much growing up, I bought one on eBay to have for myself.

Left to right:

Benchmade 9000s AFO: I got this from my uncle and just recently started carrying it. A bit too heavy for EDC, but I carry it on occasions.
Benchmade 551: I just got this one, and I love it. I'm going to start carrying it more often.
Sog Vulcan: I carry this a lot, actually. This knife is plain beautiful and I love this black TiNi finish on it. It feels just incredible and worth it's weight.
Sog Flash II: I usually carry this at work. This is great for everyday tasks and I really don't mind if I get rough with.
Sog Visionary: I love this knife. I love it so much, I'm afraid to carry it. It's just so beautiful and I love the blade shape. If I don't start using it soon, I'm more than likely going to sell it.
Sog Xray Mini: This is my first Sog knife. This knife I fell in love with and got it when I worked at the warehouse when I was 17. This has been with me for over a decade. Still sharp and no matter how bad I treated this knife, it always held its own.

I have more knives that aren't shown. These are the ones that I have at my apartment. My other ones are at my father's house in my old room.

I love SOG, as you can see. I don't like their (I know I'm going to get a lot of flack for this) Aegis, Trident, Twitch, and more of the commonly used ones out there. They're just not for me.
