Online Application 9/1/11
Class Completed 10/1/11
Packet Mailed 10/2/11
Fingerprints Taken 10/6/11
Fingerprints: Complete 10/12/11
Background Completed: 10/18/11
Manufacturing Pending (10/19/11)
Manufacturing (10/20/11)
Mailed (10/25/11)

I checked mid-day yesterday (Monday the 24th) and it was still "Manufacturing." As noosh said, they may have been having some printing issues late last week. I don't imagine that will slow down others who were in the earlier stages.

So now TWO of my friends that mailed their stuff AFTER I mailed mine have informed me that their status has been updated! Mine still says "waiting for required materials". I called Dps today and asked if I left something out or what and he checked my DL# and said that I wasn't in the system yet and that could take up to 3 weeks!! You would think it would atleast say "received" or something!!! Wth???

When did DPS get your info. It took 9 days to first scan.

Well the first scan is when that scan in your info and start working on you CHL. Maybe you will see a update tomorrow.

Yay!! Checked this am and finally got an update!! Question: everything is green except for the "background check", "chl lic" and the "app received" all are yellow and have an "!" mark by them. Did I leave something out on my app or is this normal?

I carry a Glock 19 with Federal Hydrashocks in a Crossbreed horse hair Supertuck. Its a great carry setup and is super comfortable.

Here is my current timeline:

October 8, 2011 - Took CHL class.
October 10, 2011 - Applied online, scheduled fingerprinting.
October 17, 2011 - Completed fingerprinting at 10:20 am.
October 17, 2011 - Mailed packet, with Delivery Confirmation, at 12:26 pm.

And the waiting begins...

October 19, 2011 - Packet successfully delivered (Delivery Confirmation via USPS.com)

First update on the TX DPS site today. I had checked around 5:30 am and it showed to still be awaiting my materials. On a whim, just checked again (~ 8:30 am) and got my first update. So now, I am awaiting my background check to be completed. YIPPEEE!

Since you rarely get into a class very quickly, why do I see so many people waiting to complete their online application and getting their prints done? Why not knock those things out so they can get right on it?

I knocked out application online, Fingerprints, then class and mailed it all in at once. seemed like the correct order to me
