From their Facebook page today...
"At this point it looks like a Nov opening. We still have a couple of hurdles before that's final though! Hopefully we'll know for sure in the next two weeks. I'll ensure to update the website and Facebook once we know more!"

Folks,

Dean from TripleM here - we are definitely for real!

I'll do a better job on keeping the website and Facebook page updated going forward. I've been so focused on the nitty gritty details to finalize the location, that I stumbled on the updates! Although, I'm not so sure everyone wants to hear about drainage easements and erosion lines on Facebook either... :)

As mentioned early this week, we should have some better information in the next two weeks or so!

I appreciate the warm welcome! Besides air conditioning, which is a must, what would make TripleM a great place to shoot?

Let me know your thoughts!

You've covered a lot of the bases already. Indoors, AC, AND an archery range. I noticed the CHL classes, what about NRA classes? Basic pistol/rifle, Basic personal protection, etc

How about lowering the range fees? the lower the fees, more people would love to go to your range.

I see Dean has posted a change in plans. Hooray for my side!

"As many of you know from our Facebook page, we spent the summer going back and forth a bit on our location. We were originally looking at 2 different plots of land on the east side of McKinney. While we were going back and forth with the city about all sorts of fun easements, landscape requirements and parking allotments an amazing opportunity came up to purchase an existing building on the west side of McKinney just off 380. We can’t disclose the specific location until after it’s officially closed, but we wanted to let you all know about the change. We anticipate that this change will delay our opening until late December or early January, but assure you that it’s going to be worth it!"

My husband and I shoot at Bullet Trap most of the time, it's too far to go anywhere else, but the customer service hasn't been the best in the world recently, so customer service is a MUST.

These are the suggestions my husband is saying....

1) Be able to step a rifle out to 100 yards plus
2)Shoot surplus FMJ
3)Fire more than one round at a second (Double tap training)
4)Designate a time or space for holster work so can practice for drawing and re-holstering
5)Light the target area better than the shooting firing range
6)New/Used Gun Showroom. Test out what you are thinking about buying
7)GOOD Customer service
8)Family Restroom (We usually have to bring our little one and one of us goes into the range to shoot, stays out with the week one and switch back and forth)
9)Area to teach little ones about gun safety
10)Family night like Bullet Trap has
11)Discounts for Law Enforcement/Law Enforcement Academy students (seeing as the Law Enforcement Academy will be right down the road)
12)Digital Controls
13)Allow re-loaders to collect their own brass.
14)Accessible to the general public and offer discounts/reduced rates for new shooters
15)Reasonable rates for memberships and discounts off ammo/guns/gun rentals, etc...
My CHL Application
10/23/2010 -- CHL class
10/25/2010 - Quals and Fingerprinting Done
11/3/2010 -- Application mailed to DPS
11/9/2010 -- Received at DPS
12/18/2010 -- Plastic in hand

I currently am a member at Bullet Trap (live in McKinney) but the idea of a new range in McKinney makes me smile!

Longer lanes than the usual indoor ranges would be amazing. I'm sure the building you close on dictates this but even a few 50 yard rifle lanes would be great for when I shoot .223 but my favorite range toy is a 9mm AR and having longer pistol lanes would be extremely nice to accommodate all us with pistol caliber rifles.

Very anxiously awaiting to do business.
