They have the extended 7 round magazine with a rubber base plate that covers the width of the base of the gun for $43 direct from Sig, or $35 from CDNN. Sig Customer Service told me they were same price as the standard mag.

If you're talking about their 7-round magazine, it's "only" $46 straight from Sig.

Just got the 7 round mage today ($34 from CDNN) and it makes a BIG difference in it's "gripability." You can get 3 full fingers on it now. They really did a nice job on the extended base plate which covers the gapp of the extension. Looks like a continuation of the grip handle.

I don't see the factory 7 rd mag on the CDNN website. Just the Metalform one for $17.99

You have to call them. I wouldn't suggest the metalform ones, too many complaints of feeding issues, plus Sig is now in third gen of mags on these as first two were destroying feed ramps.

There are a surprising number of aftermarket parts available for these. Mine came with very nice wood grips, it is the SAS model.

About 400 rounds in, and it is now flinging the brass directly into my face. Called Sig, and he said "Let's get that bad boy in here and adjusted." Turn around is about a week, he e-mailed me a label and couldn't have been nicer. Function is great, other than my recoiling from hot brass to the face...just needs extractor adjusted I suppose. He said they break then down and tweak the whole thing while in. I even hear claims of the being returned with an extra mag. We shall see!

Sounds like great service and even better if it returns with an extra mag.

Called variously...meld/melt/dehorning... is when they run it through their custom shop (with Sigs, they aren't made that way, its an after manufacture customizing) and round all the edges on the slide...ALL of them...not just the outer slide edges, but on the ejectort port, and front and back. Makes for easier concealment and just plain looks prettier! The SAS model runs about $100 higher and has the melt and rosewood grips. There are 15 different models of the 238 (even Rainbow Titanium slide...ugh!), so make sure you get what you want. http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductL ... -p238.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you get any other beside the SAS, you can send the slide to them and they will meld it for $120.

You can also look at that sight and see the difference in the SAS with melt vs ones without.

Found a sig extended mag at the Pasadena show this weekend.

That does make a big difference in the grip.

Will give it a try this weekend.
