How long does it take for License status to change?

I overnighted my checklist, but the Texas DPS says "Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page."
When should it change. I sent in the materials about 2 weeks ago. I did accidentely apply for the instructor, but i called DPS and they said to attach a letter saying void out the instructor application. Could that make it take longer?

Took about four days for mine...I think you might have added a few days due to the mistake of sending in the instructor application. I'd give them a call - they seem very polite and willing to look up your info and tell you where you're at. Good luck!

I can see a few days but I hope they actually got my checklist because it says it waiting for me to send them the checklist.

It really depends on who's desk your application documents fall onto I believe.
Some people say theirs changed in 4-7 days others say took 2 weeks to show up.
Either way, if you KNOW you sent the documents, don't worry about it. Relax.
in the end, if you have no criminal history or complicated background, then you should have your license in 30 days or so.


Some have been in 20 and yes, some have been in 60 or more, but really, 30 is probably the average any more, for those without a complicated background

I'm in the same boat. I sent everything and waiting for the first update is killing me!! Arrgh! I keep promising myself I won't check more than once a day, but that hasn't really worked out. I thought I was a patient person, turns out I'm not.

I really just want to know if they received the checklist, and something didn't happen to it in the mail.. That is very valuable info in that checklist of ours.

When I mailed mine in last March, it took 3 weeks for the status to reflect they received my packet.

Mailed mine 3/28, and it took four weeks for them to do the first update on the site.
