Best guy to buy with mad money?
Hey guys,
I won an award at work with a pretty nice cash bonus and the little woman suggested spending it on a pistol or rifle. So I'm curious what you guys think would be a good gun to buy with mad money? I already have a Mossberg 500, an AR15, a Glock 19, and an XDM. It could be a practical weapon or a "fun gun".
Thanks!

Looks like you've got the basics covered. Now you need an AK variant of some kind.
Edit: added bonus, AK covers fun and practical!!!!

Unless the guy comes with his own arsenal.Keith B wrote:You sure you want to buy a guy?? I think a gun would be better.

Notably missing in that list is a 1911. You need to fix that deficiency!
I don't see any sort of .22 either. Ruger 10/22, Henry 001 or Marlin 60 rifle, or Browning Buckmark, Ruger Single Six or Ruger Mk3 pistol.
Even better, a S&W target .22LR revolver - whatever the Model 17 is now.
Actually, Ruger is coming out with a 10-round SA .22 - Single Ten?

Good point. And, it's always fun to shoot with a friend that you can go have a cold beverage with afterwards!AlaskanInTexas wrote:Unless the guy comes with his own arsenal.Keith B wrote:You sure you want to buy a guy?? I think a gun would be better.

Re: Best guy to buy with mad money?
In no particular order based on what I feel you "need" that your current arsenal is lacking ...
1911
a pocket gun ... lil .380 or snubbie revolver
something that shoots .22 LR ammo
a revolver of some kind (may be cured with one of above other areas of need)
Hunting rifle?
Safe?
Reloading set up?

Looks like you got some fun guns to shoot. You need to get a 1911 now. It'll put chest hair on ya. Look at AndyC.

I vote for a .22 pistol.
Not to mention his wife may have an issue with it.Oldgringo wrote:...and possibly better received by friends and family.Keith B wrote:You sure you want to buy a guy?? I think a gun would be better.

Maybe look at a Sig 522, mine is actually the one I have the most fun shooting and the bulk ammo is inexpensive. Makes for a great family day at the range............ If not another rifle then maybe a small revolver for the quick trips to the store............ such decisions....
