Ruger SR40c

It's been a little while and I thought someone might have had the opportunity to gain a little experience with the SR40c. Anyone reach a verdict on this gun?

Not the 40 but i own a 9c and fell in love. no problems at all and it fits me. Love the gun and SR series haven't found a reason to complain yet. I know its not the 40 but I cant pass up an opertunity to brag about my SR9c. I would expect the some from the 40 though then again you know what happens when you assume......

I own a SR9C with a crimson trace laserguard and I absolutely love the gun. The slim grip gives it a great feel and the overall width makes it very easy to conceal. I believe a .40 cal and 9mm use the same frame so i am sure they will be the same size. I am really considering getting one and retiring the SR9C my wife. Hopefully someone will grab one and give us a range report. I would like to here how the recoil is since I have heard that .40 can be a little snappy in small guns.

Friend and I picked up a Ruger SR1911 and a SR40c just last week. Only put 50 rounds through the .40c as we did not have much time to shoot. Recoil to me was no different than my 9c, but I am not recoil sensitive. Pistol is very comfortable to shoot with either mag, all we need to do is set the sights and they were not far off.

Friend seemed to think this just might be his new edc.

I can't say enough good things about my SR9C, it's a perfect carry gun IMO, and super accurate. I carry it every day. I checked out the SR40c the other day at Cheaper Than Dirt in Fort Worth, the only difference I could find is the slide is a tiny bit thicker. I personally do not like the snappy recoil of .40 cals, but I bet it would be hard to go wrong with the SR40C. I loved my SR9c so much that I bought a second.

I didn't either until a few days ago as I don't really keep my ear to the ground when it comes to the firearm industry. I actually sent an emailed comment to Ruger a few weeks saying I'd buy an SR40c to replace my G27, and when asked if they had any plans to produce one I got a polite reply stating that they "had no plans to produce a compact SR40 at this time."

I'm going to to trade in my Glock for one of these with a Crimson Trace grip ASAP - tryin' to get any foreign gun that isn't a WWII rifle out of my collection.

I cannot agree more!! I recently purchased a SR9c and found that it not only conceals very well but it also shoots well out of the box. I have a Glock 27
and have been thinking the same about trading the Glock for the SR40c. Not sure about this yet since I do like the Glock a lot as well. I am out of lock
box space so if I buy another gun I have to let one go. Another lock box is out of the question. My wife will raise holy hell!!

I've gotten a couple of the SR9C and the new SR40C in stock and I must say I am impressed. The ergonomics are great, grip is nice and slim, and appears to be a very well made pistol, especially for the price. I really need to move these before I decide to keep them
