I'm no wine connoisseur but that is not a bad wine, especially for the price.sjfcontrol wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two_buck_chuck" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;speedsix wrote:...guess that one hadn't made it to La. yet...don't know it...sjfcontrol wrote:Don't forget Two-Buck-Chuck!speedsix wrote:...now THERE'S an idea...some of the other "donors" were more into Thunderbird and Boone's Farm...and don't forget Ripple...not the good stuff that comes in magnums...

So I've heard... It's ridiculed more for it's "non-pretencious" price than it's quality.SQLGeek wrote:I'm no wine connoisseur but that is not a bad wine, especially for the price.sjfcontrol wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two_buck_chuck" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;speedsix wrote:...guess that one hadn't made it to La. yet...don't know it...sjfcontrol wrote:Don't forget Two-Buck-Chuck!speedsix wrote:...now THERE'S an idea...some of the other "donors" were more into Thunderbird and Boone's Farm...and don't forget Ripple...not the good stuff that comes in magnums...
I also have a tendency to think of it as "Two-Buck-Upchuck!", but that's probably not fair.

I was referring to the play on words, not personal experience!SQLGeek wrote:Boones Farm it ain't. No upchuck going on there unless you're working on your third bottle.

Definitely check. They have really loosened up on what meds they allow donors to be taking.OldCurlyWolf wrote:I need to start that again. Last count was 2 gallons and 2 pints. But I am on so many meds they may not want it any more. (I just hit the 2 gallon mark locally. That's after a decade or more donation hiatus. Previous to that hiatus I had easily passed the 2 gallon mark... don't remember by how much any more. That was a long time ago.)

In his old standup routines, Red Fox used to talk a out drinking "champipple"......Ripple and 7Up.
In my family when I was a lad, my dad used to make 200 gallons of wine a year for personal consumption and entertaining. We did a LOT of entertaining.

We used to do that in our college dorm rooms, for both wine and beer (but in bigger containers than coke bottles).speedsix wrote:...I knew an old lady in La. who was about 78...made wine in coke bottles with balloons on the necks...when the balloon blew up...it was making...when it went back down...it was done...that was some gooood wine...elderberry, peach, maybe even grape...recipe and methods are gone...
