I gave blood a week and a half ago, and the phlebotomist got my beautifully - one stab, just exactly perfect in the arm. Almost didn't even feel it. That's the type of vampire I like.

Re: Trying something out
When I played soccar as a kid, my shins got cut a lot, pre-game drink became mollasses and milk, it got the blood thicker
Years later I had shoulder surgery, 2 weeks prior I started no aspirin, and mollasses and milk
Operative report and 1st thing doctor said to me was about them having 8 or 10 pints of blood handy, but I only lost 2 drops; operative report was like a carpentry shop using rasps, files, saws etc
Now that I'm older, I don't like ironed blood, I figure if I'm wrinkling, it should too ... no ironing my blood now unless surgery planned.

They will not take my blood..............

Happens. That's ok, too. They wouldn't take mine for the longest time.i8godzilla wrote:They will not take my blood..............

I need to start that again. Last count was 2 gallons and 2 pints. But I am on so many meds they may not want it any more. Still need to check.LikesShinyThings wrote:I gave blood a week and a half ago, and the phlebotomist got my beautifully - one stab, just exactly perfect in the arm. Almost didn't even feel it. I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

...I gave blood for years, then plasma 3x a week...paid for my first backup gun that way...a Walther .380...then one day my favorite nurse, a tall redhead, stuck the needle through both sides...my arm turned black inside...I was done...only donated about 4x since...used to lay up on one table giving plasma with my magnum on the table beside me...and talk with a professional boxcar burglar I'd chase on the job ...Johnny Jett...he'd'a made a great Converse All-Star commercial...that boy could run...we'd laugh about it and I'd say "See ya later"...he'd say "I hope not!!!"
