Re: Trying something out
There are lots of smells I'll never forget. But determining human v.s. animal decomp using only the sense of smell sounds like an interesting trick to me.loadedliberal wrote:It's not science but many people I know who were in law enforcement say it is a smell you will never forget.sjfcontrol wrote:Human Decomp?
The Casey Anthony trial, and may CSI-type shows often refer to the smell of "Human Decomp".
So I have to ask, is there something distinctive about "Human Decomp", that smells different from "regular" decomp? Why?
I think they jury did it's job, I think she did it but they did not prove their case and the burden of proof lies with the prosecution.
I agree with you regarding the case, though I haven't followed it too closely.

[RantOn]
Did not have a good 4th yesterday...we were supposed to have a big pot luck in the cul de sac but wife woke up really sick. Fever and flu like symptoms. Our daughter is also working on cutting her first teeth and is an angry little baby right now. Poor thing fussed and screamed for nearly two hours before we could get her calmed down. You moms do not have it easy by any stretch of the imagination. I had put pulled pork in the crock pot that morning for a big cul de sac pot luck that I brought over yesterday afternoon to my neighbor's house for everyone to enjoy...didn't even get a bite but at least my neighbor brought over some ribs he had smoked.
Woke up dog tired and now am working late at work...(waiting for an install to finish while I type this out). I could really go for a Jake's Punch from Bongo Ben's on the Big Island of Hawai'i and some R&R on the Black Sand beach.[/RantOff]
