Is that a dedicated 22, or just an upper?

That is an M&P 15-22.

And I have not got to shoot anything from the rail, the problem I did find was that with the rail the rear iron sits below the rail and so i have to raise the sight a bit I am not sure if I will shoot point of aim point of impact now that the rear sight had to adjust up. I had it all the way down for 100 yards hitting POA/POI. I have a red/green dot I was going to put on it but i havent been out shooting our rifles yet, just too busy. this was a NCStar rail from amazon, it locks on nice and tight, but it isnt like the see through rail they make for the AR handle that you can see the ironsights through.

Thanks! I haven't owned an AR in years, so I figured it was about time. I built the lower from Palmetto State Armory parts, an MOE kit to be exact which came with an MOE stock, trigger guard and grip. That's a 14.5" 1/7 upper with a Midwest Industries T9 rail on top, also from Palmetto. Magpul backup sights, and I just ordered the light mount and a red dot sight from Primary Arms this morning

Eventually I'll have a sling and a red dot magnifier, and I'll be "done" until I find out what else would improve it. This was a budget rifle so I'm doing it as cheap as I can while still getting everything I want put on it... so far, minus the transfer fees, tax and shipping (and flashlight "rlol") I'm at just under $820 (including the almost-$100 sights). Not half bad for everything it has on it! :thumbs2:

Me too "rlol"

SCAR 17 is the one I'm really slobbering over, but until it's under $2k (and preferably closer to 1,600) it's out of the question. :cryin Even then, it'll take several paychecks to save up for it... unless I'm finally full time by then. I'm tired of working two days a week :???:

If you can work just two days a week and still afford toys you are doing quite well...

Hi Y'all,

Newbie here. :-) My name is Kathleen but I go by "Kat".
I was introduced to this forum by Steve R. A gentleman and former LEO,
I value his friendship highly. He's good people!

Anyway, I purchased this Black Gun about a year before the last election.
The only drawback to owning one of these is all your fellow gun buddies want to play with it. <g>
Which I don't mind a bit... Cleaning guns is not a chore to me. Hoppe's #9 is like perfume to me,
likely due to lots of happy childhood memories watching dad clean his rifles after a weekend of
shooting up in the California mountains in the LA national forest. I grew up in that area and it
was legal back in the late 60's and early 70's to do that.

I'd like to post the pic here, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that?
Here is a tinypic URL instead. <http://i19.tinypic.com/80wu5pj.jpg>

I suppose there is an FAQ page for this forum where I can learn how to use the list properly
but I've never participated in a forum like this before. Just usenet and e-mail forums on
yahoogroups.

Cheers!
Kat

Welcome Kat! That's a nice rifle!

As far as posting the pic, you already did the hard part by uploading it to a server. To post it, you just click the "Img" button above the reply box & paste the url where the curser is, between the tags.
