L-1 registration issues (electronic fingerprint scheduling)

#1

Post by 45er »

I'm new to the forum, but I've had my CHL for probably 15 years (just realized I got licensed the first legal year in TX, 1996). I finally got my wife to take the class and now I'm remembering all of the fun things that a new licensee has to deal with in addition to some of the new hoops. I was trying to help her register on the L-1 site for electronic fingerprints, but it seems to be having problems. It says the information is invalid with both her DL and trace number. Has anyone heard of this problem before? Of course, it's a Sunday and I can't call. I'm planning on calling tomorrow to resolve and will follow up with the reasoning.

Her CHL application has to be active in the system before she can register with L1. That can take up to 48 hours after she completed the online CHL application, or 10 days after they receive a paper application.

Ok, thanks a bunch. That would have been awesome information to have other than a vague reference in a Q&A section when I went there knowing the answer after reading your reply. The DPS website just says that an "online application must be submitted" then a reference in the Q&A about how it has to be "accepted" into the database. I appreciate the feedback. We'll give it a couple of days, then set it up.

It worked after a couple of days waiting. We did the fingerprinting today and it went really smooth. It's a very interesting system.
