Springfield Armory has a lifetime repair policy. Send it to them.

Edited to correct XD manufacturer.

The XD is a Springfield Armory product, not a Taurus, but SA still has a lifetime repair policy on them so send it in and they will take care of it.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Don't feel bad, I once went into Chipotle and ordered a Cabana Bowl. :???:

Springfield Armory will take care of it. Their customer service is very good.

Once, I tried to order a Big Mac at Burger King and got a strange look from the person behind the counter.

Lunchbox hasn't posted a reply, but I hope that he didn't try to fix it himself. That would probably void the warranty.

I also suggest contacting SA.

You could also post this over on XD talk http://www.xdtalk.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and you may find out it's a quick fix if you want to try it yourself.

That is the place for all things, XD.

Having performed a "powder river" trigger job myself on my XDm .45, I would suggest you send it to Springfield unless you are very comfortable with diss-assembly as you must do quite a bit to get to the grip safety. Good luck.

The following videos detail what you need to do. Excellent info @

I don't don't know what SA's general policy is on shipping labels is, but definitely try to get them to send you a pre-paid shipping label. Shipping can be very expensive unless you know an FFL willing to send it via USPS for a reasonable fee.

Call Springfield, they will send a prepaid shipping label via e-mail, box it up and ship it to them.
When they get it repaired they will Fed_EX itback to you.

Good advice.

SA is very good about this, and it shouldn't cost you a penny.
