Thank You Forum Members and Mr Cotton!

#1

Post by VeggieRonin »

Just a quick pop in to say thanks to the forum members and Mr Cotton for running a great site.
I've lurked here over the past two years while contemplating getting my CHL, getting it, and now carrying often and appropriately.

Visiting here shows me that CHL folks are sensible reasonable people in contrast to media stereotypes that make us out to be crazy gun nuts. I got invaluable information on all my concerns from "printing" to "what do I do if..." scenarios from reading along. Forum members are polite and I've read great advice and a huge number of practical tips. And no "tactical tough guy" attitudes either!
I was concerned about how to properly conceal my big Beretta but with reading advice here I carry with confidence not only about concealment but in responses to possible issues that might come up.

If you are new like me, you might be wondering the things I was wondering about CHL.
Well, I found that everything the experienced folks here said turned out to be true:
1. you really can conceal if you put even a tiny amount of thought into it
2. there is great advice here for how to do it safely and securely - put it on, cover it up, and forget it
3. people don't pay attention and have no idea you are carrying- REALLY
4. a good belt is as important as they say it is
5. any concern you may have has probably been addressed on the forum before, so use the search function, browse, and enjoy the great advice and tips.
I won't regularly post due to time constraints but wanted to let everybody know that "those awful liberals" sometimes are CHL'ers and show the forum members and Mr Cotton how much I appreciate this great resource, and how much better prepared I am as a result of the information on the forum! I'm willing to bet there are a lot of other folks who just lurk without posting or registering but still absorb the tremendous resource of data and advice that the site offers - keep up the great work!

Thanks everybody!

You have to come post on my recipe thread! The vegan chef hasn't been around and I miss him.

There are quite a few liberals on this board. And quite a few independents/moderates/whatever you call them more who favor the liberal position on this issue or that one on everything from social to economic to philosophical policy.

I'm sure there's some saying in there about guns and foods uniting the forum...

Well, I can hazard a guess to say that Veggie doesn't carry to get his own food. Tomatoes and sprouts aren't very fast.

but in all seriousness, VeggieRonin I wholeheartedly agree with your post. Wish this place was around when I first got my CHL back during the last century ... but even after carrying for more than 10 years BEFORE joining this forum, I still have learned MORE from this forum than in the three CHL classes combined I took before joining it.

I personally love seeing liberals self identify as CHL holders. Since the national democratic party is consistently anti gun, it makes me feel good to know that if they push for anti gun laws they'll have people on their own side saying "wait a minute...those are MY rights you're infringing upon!". The sooner the 2A is acknowledged by both parties, the sooner we can get back to :banghead: about everything else. "rlol"

I forgot to mention. I agree 100% about this forum being polite and informative. Thanks to Mr. Cotton and the moderators for keeping it that way. :tiphat:

Some liberals have a little brain function (I think?) and would like to have protection available when or if needed!
