blue sign question
Just checked into my hotel and noticed a blue sign saying weapons on these premises without a permit is subject to jail. Is my pa permit ok for that purpose?
Re: blue sign question
if you have a carry licence, that sign doesn't apply to you. Laugh at it and walk in.

In Texas, other than Courts, inside school buildings, and Federal property and other places listed which don't need signs
there's only 2 signs where you can't carry past
30.06 sign and 51% sign

other places (SOME don't need signs to be off-limits)

Sec. 46.03. PLACES WEAPONS PROHIBITED
Sec. 46.035. UNLAWFUL CARRYING OF HANDGUN BY LICENSE HOLDER.
be sure to read ALL so you see >>> (i) Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), (b)(6), and (c) do not apply if the actor was not given effective notice under Section 30.06.

Re: blue sign question
Thanks for the quick reassurance. I did walk right by knowing it was not a 30.06 and knowing courtyard by Marriott does not get 51% of money from alcoholic beverages.
Re: blue sign question

Isn't it nice to have the license. The first of these signs I came accross I had to smile.

Re: blue sign question
I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding is that your hotel room is legally the same as your home/apartment. So you would be fine even without a CHL since the hotel can't legally prohibit you from possessing firearms in your temporary domicile.

Yes I must say. In Ohio the signs carry the weight of law, it can be written on toilet paper with a crayons and it is a criminal charge to carry past it.
Re: blue sign question
30.06 and 51% signs carry the weight of law here in Texas, but the blue sign mans they make less than 51% of their income from the sale of alcohol for on premise consumption. Places with the blue sign are OK to carry past. Here is a good reference topic http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=34571" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;justherenow wrote:kjolly wrote:Isn't it nice to have the license. Re: blue sign question
The blue sign says "the unlicensed", we have licenses so the sign does not apply to us.
