I did a google search for NASA Houston and found an old THR post saying that it's a Federal no carry zone, even in the parking lot. Is this true? I hate taking long road trips unarmed. Ugh.
Thanks,
Houston NASA no carry zone?

technically true, sorry.drjoker wrote:even in the parking lot. Is this true?
Just like the post office, you are not supposed to have the weapon on the property, not just in the buildings.

And that includes Space Center Houston as the property still belongs to NASA.

I guess you could just consider it the ultimate Port of entry/exit.drjoker wrote:I did a google search for NASA Houston and found an old THR post saying that it's a Federal no carry zone, even in the parking lot. Is this true? I hate taking long road trips unarmed. Ugh.

well after all the 9/11 stuff they are way more strict.i personally wouldnt try taking a gun anywhere on their property.maybe in your car at space center houston but def. not the main complex itself.
with my father and about 10 other people in my neighborhood that worked for nasa I always got access to stuff the tour doesnt let you do.if you can find someone who has security access to the old and new mission control its way better.the main tour makes you see it behind a big glass wall far from the consoles.if you get someone to take you in ask to go see the weather center they are always really bored and will show you all their equipment.
