I, personally, think that Newt and Conny Rice would be the All American :patriot: team.

Call me selfish if you must, but my biggest question is what are they, or any others, gonna' do for ME? The baton has been passed, you younger guys have to take care of the "bigger Picture".

Newt is one of the reasons that I backed away from the Republican party years ago. His marital record alone just put a nasty taste in my mouth.

Granted; however, who doesn't have some "baggage" of some sort? The press will dig up/create skeletons in anyone's closet. Newt's skeletons are already outed...maybe. :totap:

And that is what threw me off. Chasing down Clinton for his foibles and then doing his own no-no's. Hypocrisy at its finest.

No, I will not be voting for Newt.

Even if its between him and Obama for a second term? I made fun of the "anybody but Bush crowd", but I'm going to have to eat some crow as I think I would vote for a half rotten tomato if it was in the general election against Obama.

I won't be voting for the lesser of two evils. I did that last time with John McCain despite my severe reservations about him.

I couldn't see myself voting for Newt  . However I would love to see a Powell/Rice ticket that to me would be a great combanation

I like Newt. Don't have a problem with his personal issues. Thought the Contract with America (that the dems loved to call "Contract on America") was fantastic.
But I don't think he's electable. We need someone who actually has a chance to win, not just someone we like.

What is funny is that I didn't have an issue with his issues in and of themselves. Nor did I have any issues with Bill Clinton and his antics. I hope that in the same situations I wouldn't do as they did. But what really really got my goat was the hypocrisy involved. To me that was an even bigger indicator of a personality flaw that would have a bearing on effective and fair governance.

In my mind personal issues like Gingrich and Clinton had should have been left to themselves. Okay, you guys got outed for being indiscreet and having a lack of fidelity. Move on. Just don't make it a political football when it really isn't. I think this outlook of mine alone is what tends to separate me from the Republican that I once was in my youth. I do not believe in politicizing personal preferences and imposing my mores on another.

I'd vote for Obama over Trump.
That's about the only way Big-O would get my vote.

Trump is a foolish, narcissistic, megalomaniac. Just like Big-O, but worse.

I'd have no problem voting for Donald Trump. There is no way I would EVER vote for Obama becasue he hates Texas. Plain and simple as that.
