CBS is also noting that it was a US effort but can't confirm it was a joint US/Pakistan effort, which if ture, could spark some flames between us and Pakistan, for one.

The flip side is worse. If he were killed by disease or accident, the odds are we would never have any uncontroversial proof of death. Just as we did for years, we’d continue to speculate if he was really recording those radical jihadist updates.

IMHO, the U.S. will appear to the international community as stronger, more resolute, and better prepared if we actually took him out in a small-team SpecOps raid than any other option.

Maybe this is why the Taliban was saying they are launching a new Spring offensive?

Morbid mode: Are they going to display his body like they did with Uday and Qusay Hussein? That is, if his face is "recognizeable"?
"I don't know how that would ever be useful, but I want two!"

Springs are cheap - your gun and your life aren't.

I don't know about displaying his body, but I have some Bin Laden zombie targets, guess they are more realistic now... :patriot: "rlol"

How cool would it be to have been the one who got to pull the trigger on Bin Laden? That would be almost as good as getting a Boone and Crocket listing. :coolgleamA:

What do you want to bet the 70-minute delay was caused by telephone negotiations with Pakistan President Zardari? It seems Pakistan had no direct participation in the SpecOps operation.

He or she might be better served if that information is never released.
