Welcome to the forum, Levi! Stay tuned and you will get a pretty good feel for places to shoot, etc. in addition to learning a lot about concealed carry issues.

Welcome Levi! I'm not sure how hot it gets where you live now but you might want to wait till summer is over before moving to Texas. Gets a litte warm here. As far as places for single folks to live. Houston, Dallas - Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin are good places to start looking. Good Luck!

New to CHL, literally. Just received my plastic in the mail today! It took about a month and most of a week.
I am 60 going on 18 with something BAD WRONG!
I have hunted most of the first half of my life, birds, squirrel and rabbits. Have always liked pistols and revolvers but have never until now felt the need to carry one for self defense. Nothing happened in particular to change my feelings that I can focus on. But now if I want to carry I will be able to do so legally. I need to practice with my chosen weapon a lot. I chose to carry, for now a S-W 642 w/ a Crimson Trace grip. I purchased my wife one just like it.

I have really learned a lot from this forum and expect to learn much more.
Thank you all!

Thanks for the friendly invite. Ive always herd folks were friendly in Texas. Everyone Ive met from Texas has been pleasant to talk to. Just hope the women are the same, lol.

Im used to the heat. To be honest I prefer it to the rain, i work outside alot.

Hello all. I've been monitoring this forum for some time now but don't think I've made a proper introduction.

My name is Chris. I'm 36 years old, male, am married with one daughter. I work in the aviation industry in Houston.

Although I've been a handgun enthusiast for most of my life I only got my CHL about a year ago. I then decided to take the next step and became an instructor this month. I'm looking forward to holding my first class.

I regularly carry a Glock 27 in a Don Hume IWB holster.

This is a great forum not only because of the wealth of information, but also because it is well moderated. I have been "lurking" here since before I got my license.

About me...

I do not have left leaning tendencies, but I am a southpaw.

Hi all,
thought I'd introduce myself...
My name is Rhonda(I go by RK here.)
Age: I am proudly 36 yrs old(age is just a number)
Gender: I'm a girl
Marital status: Married for almost 14 yrs
Kids: 2 boys that are learning gun safety and learning how to shoot. Our little guy hates the noise of guns so he has his bb gun and he has to use the same gun rules with it as with our "big-guns" Our older boy loves guns and must follow the rules to a T. He goes to the range with us and has learned to shoot really well.
Years CHL: new to chl...status is "MAILED" online for both my hubby and myself... we're waiting on plastic to arrive in mail.
Carry guns/equipment:What I will carry and how I'll carry it...
Taurus 24/7 9mm(my gun for my bag)
Bersa 380 (carried on my hip concealed perfectly... currently my go-everywhere car gun)

That is that.
Thanks for readin'...
